If you read the first post in this thread written by the Moderator, it says that authenticators aren't supposed to comment on price or even condition, sorry. I don't see any major problems, just average wear. There's some verdigris on the inside zipper which means it's probably on a lot of the other brass too, that has to be completely removed.

Thanks very much, Hyacinth.

Do you know if the verdigris can be removed at home (and how) or it has to be professionally removed (by whom)?

Also, are you familiar with this 9960 daypacks? Do you know if British Tan and Chocolate Brown are the only two shades in the brown color family? Coz the one in the listing looks more black rather than brown (i prefer brown brown not dark dark brown), compared to other browns i see on ebay. It might be the lighting though.

I'm sorry i have many questions as newbie here. Thanks in advance for your time and help.

Hi there is a rehab and rescue club on TPF. You can google it and then go I the current one- sorry I'm on my phone and don't have the link on had they will help you lots!! And a lot of people have dealt with vertigritis (green gunk that attaches to brass over years an years) usually you will have to give it a bath! Or I it is minimal you can either make a baking soda/distilled vintager (DIY) or get Brasso (more chemical like you buy in the store) the "green gunk" doesn't hurt it just looks well green, some member must sanitizer their bags before use and some just clean what shows and not worry about the rest! Both ways are good- it is just your preference.. Also search in here for hang the samples of colors that are found in catalogs! I know many people have posted them! Good luck!!

Please verify/confirm this alleged fake before I report to Ebay and post on Hall of Shame

J8H, stretch marked leather, poor stitching and craftsmanship, mismatched hardware

Item:Vintage Coach Black Leather Berkley Crescent Saddle Bag Crossbody Handbag, EUC!!

Also - serial number was stamped as a unit instead of with Coach's moveable-number stamping machine, and the margin around the Coach logo at the top of the creed stamp is too thick.

I'm still not 100 percent sure that Coach never made any genuine J8H- codes though. Only about 99.5 percent.

Thanks for your honest opinion, Whateve. I appreciate your modesty here.

The bag also looks authentic to me. Now I'm more confident with your opinion. :)

Thanks again.
You're welcome!
Also, Whateve, in your opinion, this bag looks in pretty good condition for a vintage bag? And the price is good too?

I have never shopped for vintage bag before. But recently get very interested in the coach legacy line.
In my opinion, the backpack looks nice. It isn't misshapen so you could probably get away without giving it a bath. There is some color loss at the corners and a few spots on the bottom, both of which can be improved by conditioning. If it were mine, I would probably mix a little brown acrylic paint in with the conditioner. The ink marks on the inside are most likely permanent. There are a few other spots inside; if it were mine, I would want to give it a bath, scrubbing the inside suede. The verdigris can be removed with a brass cleaning product like Wenol, or just vinegar and a lot of scrubbing. I use an electric toothbrush and fine steel wool.

Need help authenticating this Hampton Carry All Satchel please, again, thanks in advance :)

Thank you very much for using the correct format to request authentication. If the poster who requested authentication earlier today had done that, you would have been able to find that it was already authenticated here: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-shopping/authenticate-this-coach-855067-240.html#post26728299

The bag is an authentic city bag from 1994.

Whateve, thanks so much for your quick reply! I didn't search the thread when I posted it. Next time I will search this thread first. Thank you again!!!!
you're welcome! Welcome to the purse forum. You wouldn't have been able to find in the thread with a search because the other poster didn't post the seller's name, item number, or item name.
