Another great find! Geez!
You know how much I hate you right? LOL![]()
Even if the style wasn't released until 2000, being made in the final few months of 1999 would be reasonable. Where did you read that it wasn't made until 2000? I've got several Gramercy styles shown as new in 1999, and at least one from 1998. The bag in the listing looks authentic.Item: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Rar...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Comments: I know this listing has ended AGES ago, but this is only so I can learn how to authenticate this. To me, this looks okay, but I read somewhere that the bag is called "gramercy" and style is 7007. but it wasn't made until 2000. So... this isn't authentic then? I'm confused.
JOODLZ! What do you mean cheap? You are the queen if goodwill finds!

I'm still learning. SO much to learn. Thanks for clearing this up.![]()
good point! Thank you for enlightening me.Oops!Sorry for the misunderstanding. When I said they were available in 2000, I didn't mean they weren't available before that. The picture of the second bag shows that I got it from the Coach website in March 2000, and it doesn't say "new" on the description, so a date of production 6 months earlier seems reasonable. I have a catalog page from 1999 that lists it as "new." I have no idea when in 1999 that catalog came out, so a year code of 1998 might be possible.
The production date is only one clue to authenticity. Often we don't know with any accuracy when a style was available. It is only when the date code is off by years or there are other problems with the bag that we will say it is fake. Or if the date code doesn't match what creeds from that time period should look like.

comment: This bag looks smaller than other photos that I have seen on other listings.
Hi gang!! Just a quick question..... I saw a beekman briefcase serial no K13-5266. Having issues with the link, but wondering about the serial number prefix. If the K13 is a giveaway for a fake, then I'll forget about it. Thank you!!
I'm not intending to step on Whateve's toes but the bag should still be looked at to verify authenticity even though the serial number is valid for the correct style. The prefix is fine.
