This bag is an amazing color, it's just hard to believe it would have been around back in the day. It doesn't look dyed. Does anyone know what the original color was? TIA

I think the seller is using some weird lighting. It is possibly burgundy.

Comments: The seller is calling this a Mini Willis (style number 23706--see zoom of Coach creed attached). I own a Mini Willis. It doesn't have the "Coach" name stamped on the back of the bag and it has a different style number (19886). Are there two different "Mini Willis"? How are they different? This bag certainly seems authentic.
There were at least two different mini Willis, just as there were several different full-size versions. The one in the listing is the "Legacy" version that doesn't have Legacy lining. :D It was made later than yours. Yours might have been called the Poppy version, or the "new" Willis version, and does have Legacy lining. There might be other differences. They might know all the differences in the Willis clubhouse. It is very confusing.

Thanks so much! That's very helpful.

I don't think it is the lighting, I think the shading is altered. You can increase or decrease the contrast and/;or tint. Sometimes when a color shows up flat a seller might adjust those before posting. But this one is way overboard - I am sure the color is not really as it looks in person, probably a dark burgundy, as you suggest!

Item Name: I've seen it ID-ed in the forums as a roll bag (?)
Dimensions (in inches): length=11, height=9, depth=3.5, strap drop=20 (at its longest)

This bag is much larger in person than appears in photos!! I love the design of the pull-snap (once I figured out how it worked ... :P)

Thanks in advance!

Coach Clutch- Magenta Leather
Seller- jbuzgo

This is what the seller had to say about the listing.

LIKE NEW leather Coach clutch in a gorgeous magenta color. Also has a removable wristlet leather strap. Adorable coin purse style with fun silver snap clasp. Comes with Coach duster bag for safe keeping.

I received this as a gift a few years ago and used it once, it's flawless I've just grown out of the color.

I don't see any problems with it. It's a saddle pouch. If you bought it from an ebay listing, you can just post the seller's name, the item number, and a link to the listing, rather than posting the photos. It is more helpful to us to see the listing, because sometimes knowing the seller is helpful. We can tell you if the seller has a good track record of selling authentic, and read the seller's description of the bag.

Thank you for the reply and the advice that I will certainly follow, silly me saving pictures when I could have posted the link.

It's a genuine Saddle Pouch Large, style number 9585 probably from the early or middle 1980s.

Thank you as well for authenticating this bag, I got it this morning and I was even more concerned as the zipper pull looks very flimsy compared to other vintage bags, (I know.. Coach has used many zippers and not indication of fake), but also in the saddle bags I have seen on Ebay, they all have under the flap that sewn piece to hold the dangling part of the buckle closure, mine has not. Could this older bag not have that feature?

Is this backpack authentic? And I think there is a shoe polish smell to it. Would that rub off on clothes and does regular leather cleaner and polisher for bags have that smell too? I've never used them before. Sorry I'm just getting into all this and am learning a lot on this forum. Thank you

I just got one like that in tan, I was also told that was a roll bag, good to know the authenticators here agree :smile1:

Yes! It can be very difficult to find the true identity of some of these bags - Googling for "vintage coach snap" and other related searches yield nothing :P

Thankful for the knowledgeable people here who help us out!

It's a genuine Zip Backpack from 1997.

Wait for advice on the shoe polish questions from posters who have experience with the problem.
