She lists both 6014 and 6104 in her description. It definitely looks like 6104, but I don't have anything at all on that style number. The year code looks like a 7, and the creed spacing is really strange, there are much bigger gaps between words than there should be on a creed from that time period. It looks like the first line ends with "It..." instead of "It was..." like almost all of them do.
The only other creeds from 1996-98 that end like that have been in a few Italian-made bags but they usually didn't have those large gaps between words although one from 1996 was close. And I've never seen a stamped
Coach logo that huge on the outside of a classic-era bag. I wonder if the letters were stamped in a metallic ink that's worn off in places over time?
It looks like the second sentence starts with "It was handcrafted in Italy..." so maybe it's some obscure Italian-made bag that was discontinued almost as soon as it was released, maybe when some Coach exec decided that the inch-high logo looked tacky, and that a bag with no inside or outside pockets might not go over well with American buyers. It reminds me of those paper shopping bags with heavier paper handles that some stores used to use.
It's probably genuine but only a few might have been made. It could have even been a pilot bag.
