Hi! I would love if someone could authenticate this bag for me. It arrived today and to my fingers, it feels like faux leather and the turn locks do not turn, they are just on the outside of the pocket for decoration. I can take more photos if needed. Thanks so much in advance.

I can't believe you think the leather feels faux. The leather on this bag is wonderfully soft. The turnlocks are just for decoration; they aren't supposed to turn. I don't see any problems with the bag. A picture of the creed would be necessary to be completely sure.

I don't like that leather. I stopped buying women's Coach bags about the time that type of leather came out. It felt like rubber.
I don't see any problems with the bag.

Thank you. I was almost positive they were from 1999/2000 but I hadn't put an intro date in my files.

I believe that the first silver hardware styles were available in late 1997. I have a bag with silver hardware that was made in May 1997. I wonder if you know of any other authentic creeds on bags with silver hardware that are earlier. It would be nice to have a "cut-off" date to use as a guideline.

There's no single cutoff date for the nickel hardware because different lines and even different colors had it available at different times.

The Soho bags had it available on just a few colors in Spring & Summer 1997. On almost all other styles it was made available some time in 1998 or 1999.

This is what I have in my files, you may want to copy it and we can correct it if something new turns up:

I've never seen nickle hardware used on a bag from as early as 1996. The earliest I can find nickle hardware offered as an alternate to brass is sometime in early to mid 1998 EXCEPT ON SPRING/ & SUMMER 1997 SOHO BAGS, SEE 1997 SPRING CATALOG, and then only on a few colors like black, gray and lavender in Spring, and a few more in the Summer catalog.

It was available about a year earlier on briefcases & available with Toffee, Lavender & Pistachio on a few bag and daypack styles in early Spring 98 & with a few new 1998 styles like Neo. It didn't start to become available on the more classic styles until mid to late 1998.

I took a gamble and bought this set of rehab purses without knowing much about them. I do not have additional info on them because when I contacted the seller she had them packed up or something and was not able to give additional pics, dimensions, serial numbers etc.

I bought the lot specifically for the blue wave purse on the right which I am pretty sure is real (or I hope lol). I am wondering about the purse on the left, I know that it can't be authenticated until I have more info and the purse in my hand but has anyone seen a purse like this or does it scream fake? I only own a few MFF bags so it may be one but the way it looks makes me curious and doubtful. Please let the wave bag at least be real:p

"Few minor repairs needed. Chew mark on strap. Small one on purse itself."

Thank you. Have you ever figured out what the lead time would be between the release of a style/color and the production date? Do you think it is on the order of two or three months, or much longer?

The one on the left screams fake.

It does to me too, the seller usually does not mark fakes as real but under "purse" but it just screams it to me. Guess when I get it I will be using it to hold my rehab supplies.
It was illegal for her to sell it, and against ebay rules. She's lucky ebay didn't remove the listing. You might want to ask her to only send the other one and give you a discount since you are only getting one bag.

I was thinking maybe she did not know it is fake. I am worried that she might back out and I lose the wave bag over it. I have been trying forever to get that bag at a decent price so I am torn on what to do. I already paid, I figured it might be fake but I personally do not know about possible MFF bags so I didn't want to say it was until I have a look at it. :nogood:

You could wait until you get it. Ebay would side with you in any dispute.
