Hi I'm so sorry about the creed I took another or below. It is super faint, it is hard for me to even see it!! Below is also the zipper which also looks bad! Ugh I'm so stupid. I got it at a local place owned by this women. Her policy is 15days return. She has a great reputation for selling authentic coach and back then (one of my frat purses I bought from her a month or two ago) I did know as much as I do now and didn't even think to look- she even stuffed it for me, probably to cover the creed. Is there anything I can do? It was kind of expensive for a fake! Pics to come..
Even if it is past the return period, it is against the law to sell fakes. If she doesn't take it back, if you paid by credit card, I would open a dispute with the credit card company. If you didn't use a credit card, then I would threaten filing a police complaint.

So it is definitely fake?!! Ah I hate when this happens! Unfortunately i paid with cash which makes it harder. would it be right to complain and probably lose the relationship we have (not a big one, but she nice to me, and I have gotten other great bags from her) this might be a silly question!:/

Please provide feedback/confirm - I think this may be a fake, but I am not certain...

The Coach cartouche in the creed looks wrong, the creed itself has a couple of puffy spots, and the registration # appears too heavily stamped, the No. almost looks boxed in. The tab for the turn lock looks like it might be on the thin side.

Or maybe I've just seen too many fakes, and now everything appears suspicious. :smile1:

I would think that any businesswoman who wants to keep her customers would be glad, or at least willing, to do the right thing when the problems are pointed out to her.

It looks like it does have the right zipper pull, but that "solid brass" buckle is a big problem.

If the stamping was done with more than the usual pressure it would explain the creed stamping, and I think that's exactly what happened.

More opinions are welcome.

:D Thanks, Hyacinth. I was wondering if I was starting to imagine defects. ;)
I start to do that too. Now that you asked, I started looking at my Made in the United States creeds, and I can't find one just like this. I have some where the overstamping marks are similar and you can see a box around the No. On the creeds I have like that, some have the same word arrangement per line and others are different. But all of mine have the word Leatherware clearly present in the cartouche except for the Lightweights. I don't see any problems with the bag so I'm probably overthinking it.

I've seen a few bags from that time period where the Leatherware was so worn away it was almost invisible, this may have the same problem. The smaller the bag opening, the more likely that there's extra-heavy wear on that part of the creed.

Below is a creed from a 9x7 Paris Bag, style 4100 from around 1989, one of the Lightweights. "Leatherware" is almost completely worn away. I marked it as "questionable" when I saved it, but that was 4 years and probably at least 5000 creeds ago. The wear to that part of the creed was the part I was questioning but it could and did happen.

Hi, ladies! I've been looking for a rehab project, and this bag caught my eye. When you have a moment, could you please let me know if it's authentic? Thanks!

Boy, you must be really looking for a challenge! It's authentic. The seller has a negative from a very unhappy Coach buyer.

Hello! I got this cute Coach purse. It is about 5 x 6x 1.5 inches. Know the year or the name of it as well? Thanks in advance! !

The "relationship" you have is presumably based on trust and honesty, right? Since you say you've purchased other great bags from her, I'd like to assume this sale was an honest mistake and if she's honorable, she should be very apologetic and agreeable to a refund. And if she isn't, she'll have lost a good customer!
