Comments: I just bought this, am new to coach bag and bought it in a hurry - as I have been looking for a quilted lindsey/madison for quite long and its so hard to find a preloved one.

However, the creed mentions about the 70th anniversary.
Not sure if the 70th anniversary bags have their creed written this way.
If it is, im considering getting this other one:

Both bags look fine.

It looks like Coach came out with the pilot version of the style in May of 2011. That version had the standard wording as shown in this listing:

Then in June, it was changed to the 70th anniversary version.

Let me know if it works. I've found that same problem with Lightweights, especially the color being uneven and spotted. I sanded one bag and now the texture is almost like suede. It isn't a Lightweights, but I don't know how to restore it back to a smooth leather surface. Conditioner makes it a little smoother but overly darkens it, and if it were washed again, it would feel like suede again.

However your reference to creeds showing "unique identification numbers" is incorrect. For the last 20 years, Coach bags haven't had "unique" serial numbers but rather, numbers that indicate month, year, plant code and style number of the item.

No, it's NOT fake. The creed stamps were updated over a long period of time. Quite a few plants including the C and D plants didn't get the new creed stamps until 1995, and one or two part-time plants had to wait even longer, even until 1997.

Oh yay! I'll keep my eye on it, if it doesn't go very high! I want to try cleaning those pen marks...
I saw a bucket at work with that same weird creed/serial combo, but it also didn't have closed stitching on the zipper pull, so I had a hunch it was fake. Hmmm!
