You should insist on getting your money back. It is illegal to sell counterfeits. I would threaten to call the cops if they didn't immediately refund.

Resale shops have to obey US Federal law just like any other individual or business. By selling that fake the shop violated Section 18 of the US Anti-Counterfeiting statutes and you're perfectly with your rights if you filed a complaint against them with your local police department - in fact I'd bring that to their attention if they refuse to give you a refund. You may want to print one or two copies of this and show them to the store manager and the local police. Almost every state has an anti-counterfeiting law too so you don't have to file in Federal court to get the police to pay the store a visit.

You may also want to read, bookmark and in the case of the Fake Serial Numbers List, print out the list of the most commonly-used fake numbers. The part on -5659 says clearly
"The counterfeiters also use many legitimate-looking serial numbers but on the wrong style bags or accessories, here are some of the most common:
-5659 which should only be on a Scribble Tote, about 11x7 with bright multicolor Cs..."

O wow i did not know that it was illegal to sell it, thanks i will print that out to take with me and give them a copy to as i am sure they did not know being that it's a small consignment shop. I had to tell the lady what one was the "coach" to even get it XD
Unless the bag in that listing is the actual one you bought, there's NO way of telling if a bag is genuine by posting pictures of a different bag just because they seem to look alike. Please read post number One in this thread, it explains what information and photos we need to see to authenticate a Coach item. NOTHING can be proven genuine from "It looks just like mine" pictures or from a purse's serial number, we need to see photos.
And I absolutely GUARANTEE that if you post photos of the bag you bought with the serial number ending in -5659, it will NOT look "exactly like" the bag in that listing. In fact, there's a good chance that this fake with the same serial number looks more like yours than the bag in the listing does.

You told me the name of this color but it's slipped my mind. This was a total lucky find, got it cheap and it's in great shape. The color is tdf, it's glove tanned but it almost looks like patina vachetta.
But just to confirm this is the zipper you were talking about. It's blue fabric and metal teeth
