Ugh.... Ok.... I HAVE to stay out of thrift stores.... it's like I can hear them calling out to me.... "....... come in here..... we have PURSES....... lots of them..... and WALLLEEEETSSSSSS TOOOOOO......."

Two more today.... can you please authenticate.... and then.... I SWEAR, I'm DONE!
The wallet looks good. It was from the Kristin collection. What did they do that poor strap on the Willis?

Can't help with the wallet, sorry. The Willis is probably genuine if it says it was made in China, but the previous owner has really butchered the strap.
The wallet looks okay.

Wow, I probably would have passed on that poor Willis because of that strap.....doesn't belong (she runs off shrieking!!!!!!!)

I don't mind the strap too much. I tend to like shorter straps anyway so it's not a huge deal to me.

And I lied. I stopped at another thrift store on my way home from my physical therapy this afternoon. I am beginning to think I might have a problem. LOL

I will post pictures when I get home!

Pfffft! I figured you might.......I know the 'signs', ask me how I know......

Found this at the Goodwill this afternoon after my physical therapy. This is most definitely my LAST project. I HAVE to save up for my MK satchel now. Seriously. :shame:

Congratulations. I'm so jealous. I won a fake brown Westin on ebay last week. Luckily I hadn't paid so was able to get it cancelled.

I was thrilled to find this in Goodwill today.. I looked it up on ebay while I was there, and there are two listings with names "Barclay" but I believe those two are fakes (will post them after) and two with no names, just called totes, that look authentic to me. I'm looking forward to seeing what mine will look like after I dunk it!

Fakes (?) :

The first two are not fake. They are authentic Barclay totes from the early 90s. Their style number is 9896 rather than 9096. The sellers just made a mistake in the listings. The older versions have the spring locks rather than the turnlocks.

Good to know! I was confused because it looked similar to mine, but not exactly, so I was wondering if it was or not, everything else looked OK, so I was wondering if they were fake or not. Thank you! A good example of when being precise about the right number is a good thing, and when it can be a bad thing if you're not. :smile1:

At the thrift store I was at earlier today, they were trying to sell a fake Coach bag for $160. So here is my question, is it also illegal for thrift stores to sell fake bags?

Yes, it is, but no one really enforces the law especially if the thrift store is a nonprofit. I was told by a thrift store manager that they had been doing it for years so it must be legal. No law enforcement agency has the resources to monitor physical stores that have a few fakes mixed in the authentic bags.
