Slowly, in fits and starts. Night-time temps are still mostly in the 30s. Even the daffodils are slow to show their faces this year. :smile1:

Yeah, it was the first weekend in April about 15 years ago that we moved to Florida from South Bend, Indiana. Hubby was just about finished packing the rent-a-truck when it started sleeting! Hurry daffodils :)

This bag is from kijiji waiting on pic of patch. The coach and horse on the front don't look right to me.

It's fake. The Carriage emblem is trying to look antiqued but like most of those fake antiqued bits, the color is completely wrong and it just looks dirty and cheaply made. The C pattern isn't centered correctly either, the stitching is too plain, and ALL the hardware looks cheap. You don't even need to wait for a creed photo with this one. Please report the fake to Kijiji if you can.

Hi there! I have been following and referencing this blog for several years as I too have nursed a bit of a Coach obsession. I have finally found something that I can't verify through your many posts. It's a straw tote, theoretically from 2002 based on the creed patch. However the only other references I can find to it online are on foreign websites...? The details:

Coach straw with vachetta leather bottom and handles (Hamptons style?)
Creed pacth A2K-8926
Off white straw with tan CC pattern
Lined in light blue fabric

I bought it at a thrift store but it had several original Coach straw care info cards in the pocket.
I can't figure out how to post my own photos...?

Thanks

Anything with a prefix of T0R is automatically fake. I don't see any problems with the courier. Normally it isn't a good idea to rely on what the seller says is the number. But since the seller has one fake, it is a good idea not to trust her.

Thanks, Whateve.

I figured the T0R was a fake....will add it to my fake number list.
I suspect the seller doesn't realize it is fake, which is no excuse in my book, but it makes me wonder where she acquired both bags.

Thanks Hyacinth the emblem is what made me think it was a fake but I wasn't quite sure so I figured id ask.

Yes, it is, but no one really enforces the law especially if the thrift store is a nonprofit. I was told by a thrift store manager that they had been doing it for years so it must be legal. No law enforcement agency has the resources to monitor physical stores that have a few fakes mixed in the authentic bags.
So it comes down to morals and social responsibility. As many of the NFP thrift stores, or 'op shops' as we call them here, are affiliated with religious organizations, it makes you wonder.....

Hmmm, this is a great question...my dh is the attorney for a very well known thrift store nationwide. I'll have to run this ethical question by him. I purchased an authentic vintage crescent Coach at a thrift for $16 (1/2 price day!). I wondered at that time if it was authentic and the very nice clerk told me that they DO NOT authenticate.
So I purchased and then had it authenticated here (I think).
But a fake is a fake is a fake......they shouldn't be sold anywhere and 'not knowing' seems like a good way to pass the buck and to not be culpable.

Nothing can be authenticated just from a serial number. We always need to see photos, especially of the creed stamp and serial number.
