Sorry for the error. I was distracted by one of my dogs. Anyway, before I posted I checked out a '96 - '97 catalog. No 4920 is the pocket shopper natural grain. No 4924 is the sonoma pocket zip natural grain. Would they have used the sonoma lining in another line? Maybe it's just the way it's listed in the catalog. It's on a different page than the other sonomas.
I have it listed as a Pocket Shopper natural grain too, but it is in the Sonoma category on the wayback and on the page, it mentions compatible Sonoma accessories. None of my Sonoma catalog pages show Sonoma as part of the bag names. They did use the Sonoma lining on a few other bags that weren't Sonomas.

Got it! Thank you!!

I am pretty sure this authentic but has anyone seen this in person? I want to get it for my MIL because she is a purple freak but I need to know that it actually looks purple and not a purplish black. So if you have seen this color in person does it look like the picture or did a flash lighten it? I tried to look online and some pics look almost black. Thanks! :D

I think the color isn't accurate in the picture. The color is black violet. You can see a lot of bags on the forum that show this color. It is truly purple but it isn't as vibrant as some purples.

I think this color might be pretty close: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-clubhouse/legacy-duffle-clubhouse-776561-175.html#post26103058

Thank you, I was hoping it was lighter like in the picture. I guess I will pass and keep looking, she is an in your face purple type of gal lol.

Can anyone tell me what's up with these? A few have popped up over the past couple of weeks....Authentic or not, any idea? Thanks!

I've been seeing them too and I have no idea of a style number or name. I don't see anything that indicates that they're fake.

Hopefully someone else might have more information.

Thanks BeenBurned!

The one with the 3 charms seems more authentic...the way the charms are centered....and it has a round link for the dog leash clip to attach to.

But, the other one looks kinda questionable. All the charms are to one side of the chain and it seems like it's kind of homemade.....like they lost the large hang tag so they added the horse and the round medallion and a tiny hang tag....and the dog leash clip just attaches to a regular link....

The more I look at them, the more I believe that the first one with 3 charms listed by gallary2011 is fake. In fact, I'm convinced that it's fake!

  • The lozenge is stamped wrong and seems too large
  • The distance between the trigger at the top of the clip and the ring at the bottom is too short
  • The horseman doesn't have enough detail and looks oddly shaped
  • The carriage isn't detailed enough and the wheels look wrong
This other listing for a similar item is even stranger! It only has 2 charms and a bent o-ring holding the chain links together. THere's no clip:

The stamping on the back of the carriage looks off and the nickel isn't smooth:

I don't know where he's getting these things but they are NOT Coach!

Here's another, this one with a disk and a lozenge:

DAMN. I just lost a whole post. Wish this forum software had an automatic Save Post feature, even Ebay's forums have that now.

Sonoma purse style numbers range from 4902 to 4949, 4955 to 4959, and 4310, 4313 and 4316.

As for the catalog pictures not saying Sonoma, you're looking at the SCANNED copy of the 1996-97 book. That copy skips a ton of pages that don't have purse listings on them including the title page for the Sonoma section. The actual catalog has 112 pages, the scanned book has 32. And a few of the scanned catalogs even have the dates wrong. Don't depend on them to be complete.

I had a purse I gave to my MIL that had a charm like this. Since I don't have it anymore, I can't tell you what the back looks like.
