Unfortunately, IIRC, most of the bidders were low feedback and probably not skilled in authentication details of Coach. (The buyer only has 8 feedbacks and clearly, she didn't know what she was bidding on although it's been a subsequent learning experience for her.) I recall looking at the bidding history prior to the listing being removed.

The thing that really ticks me off is that (in my opinion), the seller, botticelli4grace knows Coach, knows which pictures are necessary for authentication purposes and in her listings for other authentic items, she has clear and definitive pictures showing the necessary details to prove authenticity.

The fact that her pictures in this listing showed no hardware, no creeds and not even any pictures showing the full bags told me that she was clearly attempting to hide the fact that items were fake. There are minimal descriptions and no serial numbers.

The only authentic designer item in the lot is the green Dooney. Most of the Coaches were fake and most of the others weren't faked brands.

So yes, definitely fraud, IMO.

ETA: I don't know how long this will be viewable but here's a cache of the listing:
http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...4grace&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us&client=safari
Thanks. It seems obvious in hindsight that she purposely didn't provide detailed photos. Even if the buyer had been able to return them, it would have cost a bundle to ship.

Out of curiosity, how much did the lot originally sell for? Did the buyer lose a lot of money?

$255 was the lot final auction price. I don't recall the shipping. But yes, it's a lot of money!

Shipping was another $28.61, and the "Coaches" would have been the major part of the value of the lot if they'd been real. The rest of the brands if they were all genuine wouldn't have been worth what the buyer ended up paying.

I saved a copy of the listing and most of the photos, BTW. Here's the description. She doesn't use the word "authentic" anywhere:

Hi there! I was hoping someone could authenticate this bag? I bought it at goodwill for $11, so am hoping this was an amazing find!:) uploading from my phone, so here's a link to my photo bucket where the images are http://http://s1285.photobucket.com/user/catcity1/library/Mobile Uploads

The link isn't working for me, sorry. Even if I take out the extra http that was left in there, it doesn't work. Please try to Copy & Paste it again, and make sure there's only one "http"

I have a question about the Madison ikat Sabrina satchel, is the signature pattern supposed to be off-centre? I bought one online but it's not here yet and I can't find the original picture, but all pictures I've seen, it's been off centre... Are they all fakes? I thought the signature pattern was always centered?

NO, the Signature pattern is NOT always centered. Whatever source or "guide" you found that information in, ignore it. There are dozens of style and lines with uncentered Cs. The Salearea Guide that debunks those ridiculous "authenticity Guides" explains that clearly.

http://www.ebay.com/gds/coach-authenticity-guides-facts-and-myths/10000000062607882/g.html

"THE CENTERED C RULE or THE C'S ARE PERFECTLY STRAIGHT RULE

MOSTLY true, with plenty of exceptions. The center seam or a line down the front of a bag with Signature or Op Art C's should usually divide it into 2 halves that are mirror images of each other.
But:
Sometimes the back isn't correctly centered like style 10483 and the front is mistaken for the back.
Some C patterns on styles like some older Scribble Hobos don't follow the rule.
Some Messenger Bags like # 70077, Heritage Stripe Crossbody Messenger have NOTHING centered.
Most Signature Tartan Plaid bags and accessories made for the outlets in 2010 and 2011 don't follow the Rule, like #15229, 15485 and a bunch more.
Some older bags with Shearling Lamb trim from 2005 like 8K47, 8K48, have the C's set at a 45-degree angle, and so do some of the coated Canvas items sold at the outlets in 2011.

Many fabric patterns don't or won't follow the Rule, like almost all the Scarf Pattern items, and ALL the Optic Signature items where you couldn't line them up if you tried because the pattern is designed to make the C's look randomly scattered all over the fabric.
Many newer patterns and embossed leathers from 2011 don't seem to follow any sort of alignment rules either.

If you're not sure what these styles and patterns look like, Search for them on Ebay. Ask at the Purses Forum if you're not sure."

The Ikats aren't mentioned specifically but readers are warned to NOT assume something's fake because the Cs aren't centered. In fact if you had Searched the main Coach forum here for the words "centered pattern" you would have found a post I made three days ago covering this question and posting some examples of uncentered Cs, along with a warning about depending too much on online "authenticity guides".

The photo you posted is from Coach's own files, and here's its brother - neither of them have centered Cs. When you get the bag you bought, post photos here and we can tell you if it's genuine. Or if you read the first post in this thread like all new posters should, you'll find out what information we need to authenticate items and you can post links to the Ebay listing until you get the actual bag.

Sorry! I clicked on the link also and realized it didn't copy correctly, so I fixed the link and it works now :) here it is again. http://s1285.photobucket.com/user/catcity1/library/Mobile Uploads
The bag is authentic but the color transfer staining is permanent.

Here are the pictures:
