That tidbit was in her latest resolution center responses, along with a lot of other strange stuff.. including some rambling bit about the item being sent to her 'wrapped with the word LOVE and hearts all over it'
(??!!??)
(Mmkay.. that would be the 4x6" packing slip, it has my logo on it & I jotted 'love this briefcase! thank you - CHG' on it)
I remembered that she also had included her phone number in one of her earlier resolution messages, saying to call her.
After speaking to eBay about the nonTracking that she provided - I took a deep breath & called her..
Worth a shot - maybe just someone with poor written communication skills.
Super interesting conversation..
As I was gently explaining that ebay needed an actual tracking number for the returned item she said
"I don't have a tracking number. I threw it out"
then demanded "DID YOU GET PAID? If you got paid, we are fine. Did you get your money?!"
I said "For the briefcase? yes - and I understand you do not like the briefcase, so I wanted to make sure you knew you could return it - or if you're interested in another briefcase, I have some others & could exchange it.. "
she replied
"No I can't return it. I dont spend all my time on eBay. I am busy. "
I said at that juncture - "I also did want to let you know about the hardware, yes Coach hardware after xxxx was indeed brass plated, they never advertised this change"
She said:
"Oh. Well then that's fine.
Never mind."
End call.
Can I start drinking yet?!?
I need an authentication check on this, please help, tia:

The purse looks authentic, but the dustbag looks fake.
Thank you, whateve, i really want to make sure it's auth as there is no returns stated by the seller. I don't want to discredit your opinion, but do you think i need any additional photo requests from the seller? I don't like hearing about the dust bag being questionable but i'm happy about the later.
I don't see any problems with the bag.I totally understand. Even if the seller states no returns, ebay should help get your money back if it turned out to be fake. We can never be 100% sure an item is authentic unless we buy it ourselves directly from Coach. There could be counterfeiters who get it perfect.
The main things I look at to authenticate are shown in the photos. The only other thing that isn't shown is if the ends of the dowels are covered with leather. The creed, the stitching, the handle, and the padding above the turnlock all look good. I would be a little concerned about the dustbag. You might want to ask the seller if they are the original owner and if the dustbag came with it. If you would feel more comfortable getting another authenticator to confirm, it wouldn't bother me in the least.
The dustbag is ABSOLUTELY fake.
I don't see any problems with the bag.
Note that in the case of counterfeit items, a seller's "no return" policy is invalid. Sellers aren't allowed to sell fakes, are supposed to confirm authenticity before listing and if you receive a fake, your buyer protection will help you get a refund.
There are different schools of thought on this and there are honest and dishonest sellers, so you can decide for yourself if and how you want to handle it. There are sellers who purposely show authentic props to "prove" authenticity of their fakes, but there are honest sellers who don't realize that they've got a fake prop with an authentic item.
If I were a seller who inadvertently and unknowingly had a fake dustbag, I'd appreciate being told as a heads up. I wouldn't want the listing reported because someone assumed that a fake dust bag = a fake bag. Other sellers don't always appreciate the information.
IMO, if the main item (bag) is authentic, the listing isn't reportable though.
And this one, also from Goodwill...
Approx. 10.5w x 6.5h x 2.75d Strap drop 24
From 1995 #9974, I'd never seen one of these before but found one on ebay called a Classic Multi-Zip Organizer Bag...correct?
I'm gonna love the inside zipper pocket!
Any and all info is always appreciated...thanks in advance!
Hope everyone is warm...Happy (Super Bowl) Sunday to all!
Could someone please authenticate this Coach bag?
From Goodwill yesterday.
Approx. 8.75w x 7h x 2d Strap drop 23.5
I believe this is a 1994 Devon Bag #9908...yes? (I have her older Leatherware sister in bone.)
Woo hoo, she'll be 20 this year!
As always, thanks in advance!
Genuine, the catalog just called it a Multi Zip.
Genuine. And officially "vintage" this year. Kind of like when people turn 21.![]()
Start drinking??? Oh hell, yeah! I've only dealt with one nutjob on bonanza...and she hadn't EVEN bought anything...just sent me ugly messages accusing me of offering fake bags. Of course they were authenticated HERE!
Thanks!
And thanks again! Yay, let's have a birthday party!
Thank you, Hyacinth!I'm not sure which photo you're counting as number 7 and have a feeling that different browsers or portable devices might display the photos in a different order. And none of the stitching I'm looking at has any glaring mistakes unless someone can point out what I'm missing. But I'm seeing an always-questionable plant code, and a Coach logo above the creed with a font that I know Coach NEVER used. There also sems to be a problem with the turnlock.
Stitching quality should not be used on its own as an authentication tool. Sometimes plant workers made mistakes, and Coach didn't throw bags out just because the stitching was a bit off in a small area. Invalid plant or other production codes or non-existant fonts are much bigger problems especially in the case of a logo which was a legally registered trademark and would always have to match the details of the registered logo(s). This one doesn't.

I agree - authentic. It looks like it has an outlet stamp too. I've gotten a few fake dustbags too, mostly with keychains. The keychains were all genuine though. It happens.
Here you go!Thanks!
