I'm so sorry you're dealing with this.

I'm curious whether you have a "no refund" policy. Sometimes buyers who just don't like an item "manufacture" a counterfeit claim in order to be able to return it. They think that if they're honest and admit that it's not what they were hoping for, they'll be denied a return. Most sellers, even those who prefer not to take returns, would prefer their buyers be honest with them.

I'd send something along the lines of the following:

Dear buyer,

I'm sorry you aren't pleased with the bag even though it's absolutely authentic. I certainly don't want you to feel obligated to keep a bag that won't work for you so as a goodwill gesture, I'll accept the return as long as the condition is as I sent it.

If it's truly authenticity you're concerned with, you are welcome to visit the purse forum's Coach section, the ebay community discussion boards purse board or even to have it professionally authenticated. I don't know who else does Coach but authenticate4u.com professionally authenticates Coach and their findings are accepted by ebay, paypal and credit card companies.

Again, I'm sorry you aren't happy with the authentic Coach bag. Let me know what you decide to do.

Sincerely,
Seller

Beautiful.. thanks, BB, I am putting that text in my tool kit.

I do have a 14 day return policy / refund, exactly for the reasons you state, with terms clearly spelled out. I am also pretty liberal about it, if someone has an issue & contacts me, I am a purse buyer myself. I do know how it is to get something that's not as expected & don't want anyone to keep a bag they hate, at the same time I do try to keep bag renters away lol.. (bad experiences there)

I've not yet heard back from this buyer, am hoping they have had some rest & have been reassured by the evidence that they did indeed get a great deal on an authentic Coach briefcase.

If not.. well.. they gave their phone number, maybe I'll give them a call.

Hi,
I apologize in advance if I'm doing this incorrectly and if this has already been asked and answered (I seem to be particularly inept at searching the forums).

Anyway, is this authentic?

Thanks. Gotta go put on that pot of 'possum soup now. :)

I agree, genuine.

BTW, I checked my Road Kill Cookbook, and couldn't find any suggestions for which herbs to use with Possum. I'm leaning toward Rosemary but my DH says Bay Leaves and Creole seasoning along with the "trinity" of veggies. And I wonder if it makes a difference if the meat has been steeping in a pot of warm broth overnight. Would that be considered a sous vide method?

Too bad they didn't cover that particular protein during this season's Top Chef New Orleans. ;)

I think this recipe is accurate. Any recipe that requires, nails, hammer & a board *has* to be good!

I was also interested in this Coach Purple Becket Zip and was wondering it if was authentic (pictures attached).

Thanks very much!

Thanks! :)
Hmm. I don't recommend the seller, catjahnke64

The bag shown in the listing you posted looks okay as long as the last 3 pictures are her own. The first one is a stolen stock picture.

The seller sold this bag which she admits is fake. (Actually, I'm not sure that it is fake because the creed picture isn't clear but if it's fake, she's selling a counterfeit Coach bag as "inspired" and admits in the description that "THIS BAG HAD ME FOOLED -- I THOUGHT IT WAS AUTHENTIC UNTIL I CHECKED THE CREED."

And she sold this fake bag without any mention of authenticity.

I'm not a kate spade expert but I know the most obvious fakes and this lot listing has all fake KS items.

I haven't even gone through all her listings. There are probably lots more fakes. This seller has more fakes than Frank Perdue has chickens!

Do not buy from catjahnke64

UGH!! Another addition to my post!!

catjahnke64 also sells fakes on ebay!!

Ahh I'm afraid I jumped the gun and sent her a payment of $90 through Paypal before seeing this! Should I try to cancel? Or should I wait until it arrives and inspect it in person? I did send the payment as a goods purchase so that I'll have Paypal's buyers protection. Ugh I really liked this one :-/

Any bag made before 1994 has a unique serial number so the style number won't be part of it. You won't find it on a search unless you use the correct style number, 9901.

Items made before 1994 use a different serial number system. Read the Salearea Guides on both Creeds and Serial Numbers for an explanation. In fact it's a good idea to read and Bookmark all six of them:

Thank you, ladies! Looks like you've just solved a before bedtime reading dilemma for me.
I have soooooo much to learn!

It's genuine, but style number 9988 wasn't a Berkeley OR a Crescent Bag. It was called a Saddle Bag. The Crescent was similar but an older style with a center seam down the flap, and the Berkeley version of the Saddle Bag used a combination of pebbled and Nubuc leathers on the outside.

Since you've already paid for it and used paypal, you're protected against SNAD. When it arrives, come back and reference your post with the authentication request and post your own pictures. If it turns out to be fake, we can advise you on filing a dispute. If it's authentic, you lucked out.

If this is a seller who wants to have a good reputation, she needs to learn about what she's selling. She has to know the law regarding the sale of counterfeit goods -- it's never allowed; even if you admit it's fake or if you don't know if it's fake. She must have items authenticated before listing them!!

In fact, I'm noticing that her ebay listings were removed so that means her account has been dinged.

Perhaps you might want to direct the seller here and suggest she do a bit of reading of the forum.
