I don't feel good about the plant code on the first one either, it looks like an E to me too.

That time period for the M plant code is really confusing. What few stamps are in my files seem to show that both creed and serial number stamps were changed right around mid-year 1996, maybe at slightly different times. The stamp on the one being asked about seems ok to me, but I'm posting the other creeds I have from the same plant and time for comparison, from earliest to latest.
Thanks! This helps.

That's just one reason why post number 1 of this thread lists the information we need for all authentications. Please check it out when you get a chance.

Since there's only one Patricia's Legacy in the seller's Completed listings, this must be it:

I agree, the E plant code was only used for Italy, we haven't seen any proveably genuine bags with that plant code from the US. That MAY still happen but for the moment, all US-made E plant codes are questionable at best.

I'm also wondering how the left end of the inside zipper fits into the inside pocket, sometimes the fakes get that wrong too but the seller's pics don't show that side. Can you take a photo of that side of the zipper including out to and past the left edge of the pocket?

Thank you Hyacinth. Here's a photo of the left hand side of the zipper https://db.tt/OJEz5GiE

Thanks very much!

The zipper looks ok, so the only real problem seems to be the plant code in the serial number. (The hangtag isn't the one that should have come with the bag but those often get changed or replaced so that doesn't prove anything).

As long as we're right saying that the E code only was ever used by Italy, that would mean the bag isn't genuine. So far we haven't seen any evidence that says otherwise.

And we have HIGHS predicted for the next 2 or 3 days of -5 F. You're a cruel woman! :D

Good excuse to stay home and make soup. Potato or Chicken, that is the question... ;)

Chicken, with homemade noodles, yum! It smells so good when it's cooking.

Chicken it is then! And that way if the Flu Bug does hit us, the soup will be ready, with extras in the freezer. Or I can just leave it on the balcony, it will be rock-solid in 4 hours. :D

I actually had to do that the other night. I'd forgotten how stuffed the freezer was and bought a couple of items that I couldn't fit. I put them on the deck and they stayed frozen rock solid.

It's genuine.

And I'll take cold waves over heat waves ANY time!

Good luck, and hang in there!
Thanks Hyacinth. Someone got to it before me! I bet it was someone who saw this post!

I hate the intense heat and have dreams of retiring to the mid east coast where its sub-tropical. Back to work tomorrow after a loooong break so will be in air conditioned comfort anyway. Don't think I could cope with the type of cold weather you have though I do love chicken noodle soup and the extra outdoor freezer space would be handy!

How handy! My freezer is always overstuffed.

A friend left some soup out on her porch a couple of weeks ago to cool it off and when she went to get it an opossum was sitting right in it!
Ew!!

Yep, our grocery had chicken thighs on sale but you have to buy the big package to get the sale price. So I just divided the package and put both halves on the balcony. It's been 4 days now and they're still frozen solid. Chicken soup tomorrow though! Or Tuesday, depending on how long it takes them to thaw out. Love that "walk-out freezer"! ;)
