Here's bag #2 from my wonderful sister. This one kind of screams fake to me but I'm not a pro at this and want to make sure before I donate it to Savers or Goodwill. So here we go.

Length is 8 1'2" at its widest, 4 1'2" tall in center, 2 1/4" deep, strap (leather only) is15", including hardware 18 1/4"

back of center magnetized strap

Zipper stop

hardware one side of strap

hardware other end of strap

Gosh, I'm kind of embarrassed posting these pics but you ladies are the pros at this and I do appreciate your help. The only bag I've even seen close to this is this one.

Thanks again for all you do.

There's so much wrong with that bag. The pattern isn't properly centered or aligned, the creed has an invalid prefix indicating a 1998 year of manufacture but Coach didn't make signature bags until 2000. The style this is trying to copy is from about 2004-05. Additionally, the creed describes a leather bag, the plant code is one used by another country and the font and style number on the creed are wrong.

The comparison listing you posted is a soho flap bag. It's authentic but isn't the one that your fake is trying to copy.

Your fake is trying to copy a Hamptons signature demi. I can't find a mini sig version. This is the closest I can find at the moment. I believe this is style 6362.

Ugh! At 8 am, they had already sent a mass email and reverse 911 call to all city residents "reminding" us of the impending storm and a parking ban on city streets.

Yeah, I think I remember that it's winter, temps are about 20 - not even taking into account the wind-chill factor. It was just 2 days ago that we cleared several inches of heavy, wet white stuff and a new nor'easter is coming!

I wish I could get DH to go to the tropics.

You and I can go together and leave the alpha males to do their thing in the changing seasons.

This one was very light and fluffy here. About a foot.

I know I am still new to this forum, however;

If it is a "fake", shouldn't the bag be destroyed instead of being donated to a thrift store, for it to be sold again?
Again, I apologize if I am out of line. Still learning!

Yes, fakes should NEVER be donated or someone else will end up paying good money for a counterfeit, and the junk will stay in circulation. And it's just as illegal for non-profits to sell fakes as it is for anyone else, although most of them can't figure that out.

Use it to carry gardening tools or hold a plant, write FAKE with a thick Magic Marker right across the entire creed patch and give it to one of the little girls in the family to use for playing Dress-up, slash it with an Exacto knife and throw it in the trash. But PLEASE don't donate it.

Good evening/morning or afternoon ladies. My sister sent this bag to me...one of her impulse eBay buys. Before I donate it to Goodwill or Savers, I'd like to know if it's authentic. I don't know the name of it.

It's 9" wide at its widest, 2" deep and 7" tall (center). The strap drop is 12"

It has an "X" in the upper left corner of the creed patch. I've searched on here and found very little info..maybe it means no returns, final sale.

Thank you so much. I appreciate all you wonderful ladies do here.

It's an authentic Ergo Mini Zip. And you're right about the stamped X.

Yay, Hyacinth, I though I was the only one who didn't like or "get" FB. The whole idea of providing the blow by blow minutae of your daily life stumps me. I remember how I laughed in the movie Arthur when Dudlley Moore says "I'm going to have a bath" and John Gielgud says "I'll alert the press". To me that is Twitter and FB in a nutshell.

I agree (and that was one of the best lines in the movie!), but it sounds as if you and I are in the small minority who think that what we do and think and where we shop or what shampoo we like is no one's business but our own. Still, if other people enjoy talking about those things, that's fine with me as long as they're not plotting to throw rocks or rotten tomatoes at the people who don't share their opinions.

But I fiercely resent any site that tries to force me into signing up with them or any social media site they are tied to, especially when that site is trying to sell me something. It would be like a brick-and-mortar store asking to see my driving license and scanning my credit card as soon as I walk in the door before I'd even had a chance to look around to see if there was anything I wanted to buy.

I'm with you. I don't belong to Facebook either. I value my privacy too much. I used to write a blog about Internet privacy and that may have made me a bit paranoid.

I won't be donating it. That's why I was checking to see if it was authentic. Of course it will be destroyed.

Thank you BeenBurned. I knew it was fake but wanted an expert opinion.

I never intended to donate a fake bag. I know better than that. I had no intention of keeping it myself and wouldn't donate it without knowing for sure it was authentic. It's not...it will be destroyed.

I've been here long enough to know the protocol for fake bags. It will be properly destroyed. I brought the bag here so I could, in good conscience, donate it knowing it was authentic. It isn't...my husband will have fun properly slashing it to shreds. LOL

Hyacinth...Sophia's_Mom...I didn't mean to sound short with either of you and if I did, I apologize. Perhaps I didn't word my opening sentences correctly on both threads. If the bags were authentic, I could donate them...if not, they'd be destroyed.
