Thank you WHATEVE!! I believe I can list her as
"COACH REGINA with NON COACH replacement strap"
a step up from bags with NO Strap..I bought her from Goodwill auction at least 9 months ago..I do feel that she is authentic, and that the strap is a replacement, but you are right about the brass/metal rings on the strap itself, I was looking at the brass on the bag, where you would expect a " brass dog leash clamp" style strap to sit..BTW ,what is the Correct term for those removable straps? I always call them "dog leash clamps".."TWITCHER" clasp works for me :D !! I think I'll go back &finish cleaning REGINA & put her up for sale! Thanks again! Sheri

The clips were either dog leash clips (Coach used the same term) or trigger-style clips, which I think Coach sometimes called "nautical hardware" The dog leash kind are shown below. They phased out the trigger type in the 1990s, I think. The dog leash type along with a few newer designs are still being used.

Known fake serial number L4C-9956 plus an invalid year code plus the off-center C pattern plus the wrong clip on the strap, plus the creed says the bag is made of glove-tanned cowhide..

Thanks. Reported

It also has the wrong creed description plus a "puffy" creed, the wrong inside pocket zipper pull, and that E code had always been for Italy.

It's gone. Hope it wasn't bought.

The wallet is probably authentic. It's hard to tell from the pictures but it looks like #F46329.

Thanks. I'm surprised. The clasp looks so un-Coach-like!

I think the wallet is okay too but I wouldn't recommend buying a highly faked brand from a seller who doesn't know the brand nor more importantly, authenticate her items so that such an obvious fake can be listed.

Good advice. Thanks

Thanks Whateve! I believe I can list it. on ebay.as
" COACH REGINA with Unknown (Non COACH)replacement strap"..
.I.bought her from Goodwill online.. I tried to get them to take it back, they said they had it authenticated & ignored me..Way too many fakes on Goodwill..way too many Fakes on ebay
Cheers!! Sheri
You're welcome! I wonder why someone would have gone to so much trouble to attach that strap on permanently.
Yup, you're right! Thanks.

That still doesn't change my recommendation (or lack) regarding listings on ebay.ph.

Thanks for finding the style number.
You're welcome!

You're welcome. It does look a little sloppy in her pictures but it doesn't look as bad in other listings for the same wallet. I have some purse that has a medallion charm like that so I'm not surprised that they decided to put it on a wallet. There are a few styles that Coach has done, especially for the outlets, that don't seem that tasteful to me.

Coaches of a certain vintage age could have had creed stamps without serial numbers. The bag looks like a genuine Stewardess bag.

Please read these for more information, both are researched and written by tPF members:

Great blog about vintage Coaches, check out the full blog - this part explains the various brand marks and creeds:

Just en extra thank you for posting these helpful links--I need to bookmark them so I don't have to re-dig each time I'm researching. :smile1:

Thank you so much for your help. I will post pics of my red bag and the serial number as far as I can tell--it is kind of hard to read. I'll do a more thorough comparison of the two bags as well.

Thanks again, Hyacinth and Whateve for your help. Decided not to bid on the green Regina bag as there were too many question marks. But I'll post pics of my red Regina just to make sure she is authentic, too!

The serial number is F6D-9985 as far as I can tell. (It was too hard to take a photo of the number.) Regarding the strap, I found out that it was missing the strap altogether when my mother purchased it new from Marshall's in the mid-late 90's. I guess someone could have taken it? Anyway she got a replacement strap from Coach, thus the flat-with-buckle style.

This is my first time attaching photos so I hope this works. The color of the bag in the first photo isn't as accurate as the inside flap and back views.

Thank you!

It looks fine. I can't tell for sure without a picture of the creed. The last four digits should be 9983, not 9985.

Hi, I have another bag that I would like authenticated/identified, as I have not seen many of these. It's my favorite thrift store "find" so far.

Item name not known, but I think I would describe it as a saddle-type bag.
Looks to be British Tan.
Measures about 10.5" wide, 8.5" tall and 2" deep.
Serial number looks to be 031-4116.

Photos below. Thank you so much!

Good guess! It's a saddle pouch, style #9585.

Gosh, it was really difficult to get a photo of the serial number, because of the small space, but I think I captured the last four digits and it definitely looks like a 5 to me. What could that mean? Did Coach ever change the last digit based on color?

I've also attached the creed for good measure.
