I think she might have copied the style number wrong. It should be 10537.

It looks fine. It's a pocket purse.I found another bag! Can you take a peek at this one? The serial number is hard to make out but it appears to be No C5D 9755

My question has to do with the Coach hang tags -
in the past I have come across a few with this slightly different shaped where
it is notched and the chain is attached - like on the red one.
Compare it to the other two I have shown.
Also, the outlines around the Coach logo is slightly different.
Are they all authentic tags?

The earlier NYC tags had the shape like the red one. It says Leatherware in addition to Coach. The one on the far right looks like the tags on my mid to late 90's bags. I think the one in the center matches a bag I have from 2001. They all look fine.
That's great. I actually think I threw away a couple like the red ones!
I know I have a Sheridan bag and I'm pretty sure the tag is shaped like that too, glad I did not get rid of it.
I thought they were fakes.
I wish I had them back now. I need SOOO MANY tags that are missing from bags I have.
On ebay they sell for between $10 (if you are lucky) to $25 each, which is ridiculous!

Oh, that's so sad that you threw them away! The Sheridans and Sonomas have very nice tags with an extra frame around the outer edge.
I'm pretty sure about the lock but before you throw it away, wait for other opinions. Noshoepolish might be familiar with briefcase locks.
AFAIK, the font is wrong as is the key.
