I bought it and took it to a Coach store and the clerk said she thought it was a fake. Any ideas? Thank you!

There's nothing wrong with the bag. It's made for a discounter like Nordstrom Rack or TJ Maxx (as indicated by the Z in front of the style number).

It's never recommended to go to Coach to ask about authenticity. They aren't trained to authenticate and in fact are prohibited (by company policy) to do so, although they've been known to state that authetnic bags are fake if they know they were purchased from ebay or another online site. Coach dislikes resellers including those selling out of their closets and want buyers to purchase only from them or their authorized partners.

The way Coach "determines" authenticity is by looking up the style number in their computer, but not all numbers/styles are in the system, especially those made for factory, made for department stores or made for discounters. Additionally, vintage bags don't have serial numbers that are searchable.

So often, if they don't find the style in their system, they declare the item as fake, whether there's any truth to their declaration.

Again, your bag is fine.

Here's my Soft Satchel in Wine from the Lightweights Collection. She needed very little rehabbing other than a short soak/bath, stuffed to restore the shape (it was flatter than a pancake) and then conditioning. There is one small stain about the size of a pencil eraser I wasn't able to remove but I can live with it.

I love carrying this bag. It's a classic satchel style, lightweight and opens wide. I'd buy another one for sure.

There is not a creed picture to authenticate with but everything looks fine. The two-tone is rare. That is not the correct strap for the bag. The original strap slides through those loops and snaps. It would be almost impossible to find the correct strap for this bag.

Hello this is a listing on ebay for a lot of coach purses, but I have been talking to the seller and she agreed on letting me only buy the blue one. She has no creed pictured, but told me the serial number is NJG-9076

I'm not sure about it. The shape of the purse looks funny compared to others for the same style. Plus i have never sent hat color. She does not give details on any or the bags. But that could be nothing. I know you need a pic of the creed to for sure authenticate it, but can someone say if it looks ok or not. I am in the process of trying to get a picture. She says it is authentic as far as her ability (which worries me) and was bought second hand. Thank you!

That creed number she gave you is not valid. The second digit must be a number. Without seeing the creed, I have no idea if it is authentic. It is the right shape for a companion flap. It did come in navy.
