The zippers look different on the end of the zipper where the pull ends up when the zipper is closed (top stops.) I tried to include a close up of that area and of the zipper pulls.

To me, the leather felt overall finer on the black purse. I wasn't sure if these were just differences due to their age difference, or if they indicated a difference in quality, and therefore a non-genuine bag.
Both look fine. My 1995 D plant Patricia's Legacy has a zipper end just like your brown purse and the grommets are the same. I don't know if Coach actually changed the quality of their leather but in my collection, the bags made between 1997 and 2001 have the nicest leather.

Thank you so much! I really like the bags, but I didn't understand their differences. I feel much more at ease now.
I appreciate your, and everyone's, time in answering my questions! Thanks again!

Can someone please authenticate this Coach bag?
Just purchased at Goodwill...tucked into the zipper pocket looks like original price tag!
This one was way under Goodwill's radar!
Approx. 9”w x 5”h x 2.5”d Strap drop 7.5” to rings
Is it something like a 2005 Chelsea Optic C Demi #2171?
Any info is always appreciated...thanks in advance!

Nice find!

Thanks for the info and photo. My photo was shot in my office...not outdoors, cause it's tooooo cold...so colors are off. The color comparison to your stock photo IRL is dead on. The placement is different, though as you mentioned. Fingers still crossed.

EDITED TO ADD: Wow...I just did some googling and found this:
http://forum.purseblog.com/coach/catalogue-of-past-coach-styles-518320.html

Scroll down to the BOTTOM image of post #1...what do you think???

I have the same Japanese catalog - the colors are a bit "off" but the different charm placement is interesting.

I've never been able to find a real-life pic of that keychain. What makes me think yours is genuine is that the stock Coach pic shows marks or indents around the edges of the charms' handles to represent stitching on the handles. Yours has the same marks, and it's the sort of detail that counterfeiters usually wouldn't bother with. The two charms that are in reversed position don't worry me as long as the smaller details are accurate. The one in the Japanese catalog shows that a switch was made some time during production. Another good sign is that the hangtag looks right and has a smooth surface instead of the hills and valleys the fakes usually have.

I think yours is OK.

Thank you ALL...for the authentication on the little Chelsea bag...

As far as the keychain goes, I will shoot better photos tomorrow morning in real daylight...so you will have a record of what we now think IS the real deal. I searched ebay for "multi-purse keychains" and looked at literally THOUSANDS before I posted here and was scared because I couldn't find one that matched. When I discovered the google link, thanks to BeenBurned, based on her style #, I felt more confident. My keychain "feels" right, and the handle inscriptions (they actually look like laser inscriptions) and Coach tag details, as Hyacinth described, above are spot on. YAY...and it was only $9.99! Any idea when it was born?...I didn't find a single listing for this configuration...is it that old?

I can't say Thank You enough for solving this mystery for me! You're the best authenticators on tPF...I'm so thankful to have all of you as resourceful - and mystery-solving - friends...hugs to all of you!

I'm guessing the keychain was from around 2004-05.
