Thank you! I think with a little TLC it will look good! How would you fix the brass (brass plated?) and there is a loose ish turnlock
Thank you! Really I never heard of that! How would you fix the brass hardware? It looks like full brass except the chips.. Is that possible? Also, What year do you think this bag is?
It was made in 1998. You may have to check the Rehab and Rescue thread for information on brass hardware.
Coach stopped using solid brass hardware in the 80's, so it is brass plated. I've had some hardware look like that. You can use brasso to shine it up but I don't know if you'll be able to get it perfect. You can get a new turnlock from Coach, I think. I ordered two a few weeks ago and I haven't gotten them. There are also sellers on ebay that have them. I'm not sure how much longer I should wait to see if Coach will send them.

I got two on ebay from 2 different sellers, one was nickel and cost 8.99 plus $4 shipping,
and the other was brass 8.99 free shipping.
I wish I could find them for less money cuz I'd like to replace quite a few!

I think those look like Ms, but I can see how they almost look like Ns. Maybe the other one just looks like that from the angle of the photo. The letters in commemorate that look like Ns look larger than other Ns in the creed.

For two bags of the identical style made in the same month, year and plant, would Coach use different patches/Olympic logos on the front of the bags?
And does anyone else think the "5" looks slightly off on the green one?

Thank you for telling me that! I had no idea! Is brass plated the normal for high end purses? Because probably most of the coach purses are brass plated... It is weird because the hardware on the other side is in perfect shape so I wonder what happened there?! Will Brasso take some of the stuff off? If the turn lock still works should I leave it? That is to bad about the turn locks! Coach is getting stricter and stricter about what they will send out! I have not tried calling them about getting turn locks but I have had trouble with getting replacement hang tags! A month or two ago I ordered with no problem. Now a week ago I called three times (hanging up the first two times) because they would not help me and then the 3rd time the lady was niceish and would only let me order 3. I think now I am just going to go to the stores and get their help. I wonder if the stores would help you to with the turn locks! Coach should provide them and part of their "enduring quality" pitch! Good luck lye us know when you get them! I am waiting for them to send me my bag I sent in, it has been over a month and getting a little worried. I wonder if they are just slow in shipping stuff
