Hi, I think this is fake. The word "detail" is missing the "d" and the U at the beginning of the serial number is obviously off.

Thanks.

Yup it's fake. Besides the misspellings, it has that disgusting siggy lining plus a prefix starting in U, which is invalid. It is trying to copy #3677.
I just wanted to point out that the legit style 3677 is one of the exceptions to the signature lining rule. That style does have signature lining, but it looks like this:

Another one. When I asked for the name and style no. of the bag, she gave me the number off the inside patch?

Item: Coach Leather Purse Handbag Beige Tan Camel Brass Hardware

Comments: Is it real?

It looks fine to me. More opinions are welcome. It is a Peyton Shoulder Bag. I'm a little surprised to see it with a factory prefix. I didn't know they made factory versions with the polka dot lining.
It looks good to me, too.

It wouldn't be post-1994 with a 1994 year code. And the first digit is an L, not a 1. And NO post-1994 serial number should ever start with a number except for the very few mid-90s bags from a few plants like Costa Rica where the first three digits got mistakenly scrambled, but those are mistakes and not standard Coach formatting.

The seller is mistaken, as many are, about when it was bought. It would be nice if the creed wasn't worn down so much, but it's called a Sling, looks genuine, and was made in 1994.

I'm not sure where you're getting your information on how serial numbers are formatted but it's seriously flawed and you need to ignore whatever sources you're using and find a valid set of guides that have accurate information. Start here:

Thanks.
My apologies for transposing the words "number" and "letter" in my original post.
Do you know which city the C would stand for?

Hi guys need help to authenticate this second hand coach purse that I got from a seller online. I'm not really sure if it's authentic or not but I'm keeping my fingers crossed now. Really hope some kind souls can help me see if it's authentic?

Have checked a couple of things, the zips are all ykk, and the coach logo is not stamped on every hardware but only on the long sling strap.

Do let me know if you guys need any extra pics! Really appreciate your help!:D:D:D

I'm not an expert on newer styles and can't comment on authenticity. But you can't really base an opinion just on color, except for extreme cases. Not only does Coach sometimes made special colors that are only available to their retail department store partners like Macy's in the US or to their own flagship stores, but it's also very possible that they made colors that were unique to the London boutique.

The regular posters over at the main Coach forum here would probably have a better idea of what colors might have been available. You could ask there if anyone has ever seen that style in black, but for authenticity questions they'll probably refer you back here, and you may have to wait a while longer for an answer since we're a bit short-handed this week.

Thanks for the information Hyacinth! I asked over on the coach forum and
was directed to a picture of a black dowel chelsea flagship
bag -- so they did make at least one shape in black.

Please post a clear and legible picture of the creed patch.

Hi, everyone. I've enjoyed learning about Coach purses from reading some of the threads here. Super informative!

I bought this purse secondhand today, and when I got home I looked it up to see what I could find out about it. It didn't cost much and though I thought it must be a fake I loved it anyway AND it matches a winter outfit of mine. Anyway, after doing some research it seems it may actually be a genuine Coach purse, possibly from the Holiday Plaid collection in late 2002. The quality is nice and there's also a tag inside that says the purse fabric is 100% wool. The number is H2J-8938. I've taken some photos and would love any information you may have about this purse. Thanks so much in advance, and have a great evening.

It's authentic (although you typed the prefix incorrectly) from 2002.

I don't know what the official name was.
