No worries. The Coach store sold you an authentic Bridle zip. Your bag was made in 1999.
Thank you so much! Now I even know its name... what fun! I'm glad I've taken such good care of it over the years... other than a few surface scuffs (comes with the territory in this type of leather) it looks brand new.

So I guess all the "expert guides" on eBay about things like crooked stamping on the Creed are just a bunch of... um... garbage? I'm glad I was able to come here and have it validated by someone who knows something!

Hi, Hyacinth, I received this bag today. It looks good but I am a little concerned about the outer zipper pull hardware. All hardware on the purse is brass including the zipper teeth but the zipper pull looks like nickel. Was the brass on this style solid brass or brass plated? Also, is the brass burnished? I'd like to brighten it up but I'm not sure if that is the way it's supposed to look.
Hi, me again. Just wondered if anyone else can give me an indication as to whether my concerns are valid. Thanks. Oh, and today I emptied out the packing peanuts (I hate packing peanuts:nogood:) and found that the interior zipped pocket is ripped to sh*t and some metal thingy which I think is to give the purse shape is loose. Does anyone know where it belongs? At first I thought it was a nail file that fell through the lining. I looked the bag over and saw additional hole punched in the strap. None of this was disclosed in the listing. I have emailed the seller but no response yet. Thanks.

Wow those pics are pretty old. I hope the purse is in the same condition as the pics.

I think they are just bad pics. I've been communciating with the seller and she seems honest, however I have decided to cancel the order because of issues with shipping costs (seller hasn't sold internationally before so is locked into ebay's GSP). I have recommended she relist with better pics and more detail now that its been authenticated.

If the bag is damaged or some part has come loose (maybe some stiffening piece from around the top of the bag?) and the pocket is ripped I'd contact the seller about returning it since it's definitely SNAD.

And I'd still have to tell you that I don't have one and can't really help with things like the hardware colors you asked about before. It's not the kind of information I can find in catalogs or even in other listings unless the photography including the color balance and focus is perfect.

You've been reading the wrong guides. Whichever ones you have saved that make any claims that "Coaches are always perfect including the creed and serial number stampings", delete those guides or links from your files and forget all the BS that they included.

Then read the six-part Salearea Coach Guides that not only give ACCURATE information about what you can and can't expect from a Coach, but that also includes a Guide that specifically tells you what you can and can't believe or depend on from other online"Authenticity guides". Read them, save them and Bookmark them, and ignore anything published in any other guide that has contradictory information. Ask here if you need any points clarified:
http://search.reviews.ebay.com/members/salearea?uqt=g

And read my Signature right below this for a warning about online guides.
There will be a quiz when you come back. ;)

Comment: I won this yesterday and seller has just provided me with a pic of the creed. Please authenticate. Also is the catalogue a good one?

I don't think the date stamp on the pictures is actually the date the pictures were taken. Many sellers don't set the calendar on their cameras.

This listing from the same seller has a 2005 datestamp also.

Never thought of that. Thanks.

Thanks. It's a nice looking purse but without knowing where the metal stiffener goes it may go out of shape quickly with use. I could probably sew up the rip in the lining fairly easily. I will wait to see what the seller says when she responds to my email.
