item: Broadway Satchel

Seller: Sacs Magnifiques

Comments: I purchased this super cute doctor bag called the Broadway Satchel. I liked it so much, thought it was Bonnie Cashin era and found another one on Etsy. THEN I got that also. I'd like to know what year it was made!

I've seen similar listings that name Bonnie Cashin as the designer, vintage 60s, vintage 70s, vintage 80s. After *MANY* calls to Coach, one really kind manager looked it up and said it was sold in 1992 because he saw the catalog page of it that year (same page as shown at Sacs Magnifique). That photo show the bag on what appears to be a sand surface - maybe a beach. I was so disappointed! He said it was possible that it was a remake from earlier years. I had seen a catalogue page of a completely different ad - of the same bag sitting on what looked like a train seat or some sort of fabric bench seat.

Can anyone help me?
It's not a Bonnie Cashin. As far as I know, there never was a Bonnie Cashin that looked like this. A real Bonnie Cashin most likely won't have a creed since she left Coach around the time they started using creeds. Coach didn't start using the "Made in the United States" creed with the xxxx-xxx format until around 1989 and this style wasn't introduced until 1991, so 1992 seems about right for this purse. It was definitely made before 1994, when they changed the numbering format.

Many sellers mistakenly use the name Bonnie Cashin in their listings.

Both bags look authentic.

There's no such thing as a list of iffy sellers. Not only would a list like that change every day, but anyone who publicly posted a list like that would leave themselves wide open for legal action.

Keep your own list by reading this forum on a daily basis and making notes of the sellers we recommend against dealing with, but remember that a seller can change their Ebay ID in about 30 seconds. It's every individual member's responsibility to do research into anyone they're thinking of buying from.

Check the "Feedback received by" search feature at Toolhaus.org
http://toolhaus.org/

Search the frorums her at tPF for sellers' names and reported problems, but understand that the tPF Forum software still has a MAJOR problem with all seller names or IDs that have any sort of symbol that isn't a number or letter. For instance searching for a name like " linda*s***stuff " won't bring up any results because of the asterisks, and the same problem happens with dashes - or underscores _, all of which are used in a lot of Ebay and other site IDs. Often you can be directed to posts here if you enter the full ID including the characters into Google Search, but it's always best to ask here directly.
Thanks so much for looking at the bags! I was just wondering about the sellers since I'd seen references to "lists" or compiled seller info lately, but I completely understand the legality issue of marking someone as untrustworthy- as well as the ability to change ID's. In my head it seemed reasonable, but it probably wasn't a realistic question~ Thanks for the info!!

Good morning ladies! Can you settle a debate for me? Has M3U-7029 ever been a valid serial number for a Made In China bag? THANKS!
I believe that it can be a valid serial number but it's also one of the "valid" serial numbers that can be found on fakes. Even if you found a bag (or listing) that looks right, it should be verified.

This is what 7029 is supposed to look like.

ETA: I found this completed listing for a bag with the serial number you mentioned but without a picture of the creed, it's not possible to state definitively that it's authentic but it appears to be okay based on what I see:

Seller lsabel789

Before I comment on the wallet, I just want to say that I'm reluctant to authenticate listings out of ebay.ph. I hate to disparage a nation of sellers because I'm sure there are honest ones but unfortunately, there is a history of many sellers (powersellers and top rated sellers included) in the Philippines who sell "good" fakes in many different brands. I don't know whether other authentication discussions (other brands) have the same concerns as we've stated here in Coach on many occasions, but generally, I don't feel comfortable authenticating and recommending listings out of the Philippines.

Regarding the wallet you bought and photographed, IMO, it appears to be okay but I encourage other opinions.

What concerns me might be just my own cynicism but considering the types of listings I've seen on the ebay.ph site, it's worth mentioning. The seller also has this listing for a similar wallet, also NWT. It's unusual (IMO) that she'd have 2 NWT items as old as these wallets. The wallets are from approx. 2004-2006-ish.

This is her other listing and the color of the tag (the part I can see) looks off and the imprint doesn't look quite right on this one:
http://www.ebay.ph/itm/NEW-IN-BOX-A...2?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_211&hash=item58a690b864

Okay, I'm further doubtful of the seller, lsabel789 .

Again, as I stated above, it's unusual (and questionable) to have multiple items that are supposedly "old new stock," especially when described as being sold because she no longer needs it. As she says in her listing, "THESE ARE PERSONAL EFFECTS THAT ARE NO LONGER NEEDED."

If she bought items impulsively that she no longer needs, why did she have several of these to sell?

Sold October 7 and received positive feedback on October 12:

Sold October 9 and received positive feedback on October 11:

Different color of same wallet sold on October 2 with positive feedback received on Oct. 3:

Another color sold on Sept. 26:

I am not comfortable with this seller's listings.

Thank you BeenBurned for your comment the interior of the wallet seems a little off to me the tag doesn't have a style name I have contacted the seller requesting for a full refund and I will ship it back. The seller said she will refund it tomorrow because I'm not satisfied with the item but she insists that it was bought in a coach outlet store in bulk. I agree with your observation that most of the power sellers on ebay.ph are selling fake items most of them have low starting bids and that is the tell tale sign. But thankfully there are some who are selling genuine bags. I seldom buy from ebay.ph I would rather buy at ebay.com or go to a mall abroad to buy branded bags. I really hate fake stuffs I should know and I can tell at a glance because I have quite a collection of authentic bags.

What can anyone tell me about this keychain / fob? I've not seen another one before, but the seller has had this one up for auction on and off for several months now. I'm not gonna buy it or even bid on it at the current price, it is used and the hang tag really has edge discoloration....but I would like a little information in case she does lower the price....or maybe I make an offer.

Thanks BB! I thought so, but my friend kept saying no!

It's authentic, style 92165.

However, that seller has had multiple IDs and a search of her ID on TPF will bring up info. Here's one of several posts about her and her IDs. (Personally, I'd hit the back button.)
