Comments: Yes, I went out on a limb and bought this bag without prior
authentication.
It's an authentic soft satchel #4055 from the Lightweights Collection from 1989 or the early 90's. The color was called wine.

Yay! Thanks Whateve. I appreciate your help.

It looks authentic. I'm not sure what color it is. I bought a vintage purse that was a beautiful orange, but once I bathed it, it turned red. This one looks more like a orangey brown.
Thanks very much Whateve. (Can't believe what I've just been reading from tetondeb. Ebay has gone lala. First the policy changes to the discussion board and now this cr**. Some entrepreneur out there should be watching this and come up with a credible alternative. Buyers and sellers would leave ebay in droves)

Comment: I've just won this so your views on its authenticity would be appreciated. I've been waiting for this to come up after missing out on a black one by the same seller and he told me he'd be listing it. He has another two double sided bags listed at the moment. He also has a lot of other lovely vintageCoach bags and if you have the time to look at them I'd be interested in your opinions about any of particular note.

Thank you, I did receive the bag yesterday and all the photos I took myself, I think it looks good but it's the first time I purchase Coach bag and not from Coach store so I feel a little bit confused. This mini tanner costs just 258$ in US but in Coach store in my country, it is nearly 500$, crazy deal !! Although it is risky in online shopping but I cannot afford that over sky price in store :D
You're welcome.

I don't know what country you're in but there are a number of factors at work here.

1. Although the Coach tag shows a particular price, that's the manufacturer's suggested retail price in the location where purchased. Though I live on the east coast of the US, during a visit to California, I noticed that manufacturer prices (and thus, tags) were 10-20% higher on the west coast. And from what I've heard, Hawaii is even higher.

"Suggested retail" is just that; suggested. Retailers and resellers can raise and lower the price, depending on what it cost them as well as based on desirability. (There are some styles that have sold for several times over retails because they were HTF. I recall a denim patchwork hobo from several years ago that was selling on ebay for $800-$1000. Retail was about $300.)

2. If you're purchasing a current style that is still in stores at full price, the ebay seller would need to mark the price up enough to recoup her costs as well as add enough to cover her fees.

I don't know what country you're in but I know there are a lot of Asian (Singapore, Malaysia, etc) resellers who purchase from US and resell in their own country. Because of the demand and unavailability of the product there, they're able to turn a decent profit as well as satisfy a buyer who otherwise, might not find what they want.

It's genuine. Twin Clutch, style 9380 from the late 1980s.

I'm pretty sure that is a 3 for 2003, not 1999. It is very similar to a Soho slim hobo, but I haven't found that style number yet.
