Thanks so much!! Happy Sunday! =)l
The patchwork top handle pouch looks fine.

ebay.ph is the ebay site for the Philippines and it seems that there are so many fakes there and so many sellers who seem "connected" to each other that I just won't recommend any of those items or sellers.

I see what you're talking about.

What you refer to as a "vertical" clip is that it attaches front to back and what you refer to as "horizontal" clip attaches side to side.

I am not familiar with either style so I don't know how they're supposed to be or if Coach might have made the style two different ways. (Maybe someone who has the bag might know the answer to that.)

As for the comparison of two styles you're comparing, they are different sizes. The approximate measurements (based on listings) are:
24341: 19" L x 9.5" H x 6.25" D
25663: 13.75" L x 10.75" H x 4.25" D

Other than the differences in the clip, I don't see anything that indicates that your bag is fake.

Thanks BeenBurned! I appreciate your info and opinion. I just measured my bag and its neither of those approximate measurements- my bag is 17.5'' L (at its widest point, the top), 11.5'' H, and 6'' D. It's pretty big, and my measurements aren't drastically off from the 24341, so it must be true to the tag and be a 24341. It's definitely not the 25663, which seems much smaller. The trouble is still that all the 24341's I've seen are side-to-side dog leash clips, and all the 25663's I've seen are front-to-back clips. So I've got a 24341 sized-bag, with a 25663 style clip!

The fact that we are seeing plenty of bags with each variation makes me believe both are authentic but I've never seen either IRL. The version I'm seeing at on Coachfactory.com now has what you refer to as a horizontal clip. A clip that direction is used in larger bags to cinch the sides of the bag in to make it appear smaller and change the shape, while the vertical clip is just used to make the contents more secure.

Hi whateve, thanks for your input! I've never seen one in real life either before, and I don't have a Coachfactory.com account, and of course coach.com no longer carries it, so I don't know what other solid reference I can depend on despite the knowledgeable folks here! :) Honestly it doesn't seem like the kind of bag that would be particularly appealing to counterfeiters to make copies of, I don't think it was that popular or recognizable. And as you said, there's a lot of bags with the variation, so it could be a legitimate variation. The bag is very well-made, looks neat and sturdy, so I'm inclined to believe it's genuine.

I just got it off eBay and the positioning of the dog leash clip was bothering me. Maybe someone here also has the bag-- which way does your dog leash clip go? Also, does the serial number check out? I've never seen one beginning with "C1" before. Thanks!

Ebay.ph is Ebay's Philippines site, a source of a large amount of what are called AAA fakes. We NEVER recommend that anyone buy from Philippine-based sellers because of the high number of them who sell fakes.

I DON'T recommend buying the Pouch in that listing. The seller has stolen several photos from someone else and they're from a different bag, and at least one of the two styles may be fake. Some pictures are of style 10813 which should have a solid-color base AND a serial number inside, along with a dog-leash clip on one end of the strap. One bag is fairly flat and the other is wider front to back, and the patchwork patterns are different too - which one is she selling and why should you trust her?

Look CLOSELY at the photos - the ones with a dark background also show a clip on one end of the bag strap, the others don't. Since the seller saraannthornton has already stolen photos from at least one person OR from a website, how do you know WHICH bag you'll get? I don't know if the one without the clip is even a legitimate style, but a seller who steals photos doesn't deserve anyone's business.

Do NOT buy from saraannthornton

BB,look at the differences I mentioned.

Here's style 10813, which is NOTthe bag shown in the first set of photos but does match the style shot against the dark background:

WOW! You're right, that's a really good catch. That makes me SO angry! Especially because the seller said the bag has never been used and is new without tags, which already takes *trust* to believe. That's really sketchy if the seller has two bags, or even worse, is just stealing photos of something else entirely. If there's truly nothing wrong with the purse she's selling, then she should have no problem photographing THAT exact bag.

Can you advise me how to proceed with the seller and eBay? I'm going to stop payment on my credit card to protect myself that way, but I don't want to hurt my reputation on eBay in the process.

Thanks so much for your help!! BeenBurned- thank you for looking at the purse also, and I appreciate the info on eBay.ph.

Nice catch, Hyacinth! And I plead negligence in this case. I usually always check a seller's other listings to see her pictures, writing style, backgrounds, etc. And I got lazy on this listing.

I don't recommend saraannthornton either.

Clearly, saraannthornton has a camera. Someone who can take multiple self-portrait modeling shots of herself in lingerie for her other listings shouldn't have any problem providing her own pictures of a simple handbag!

Although her pictures show MULTIPLE authentic bags, they aren't her own pictures and there's no telling what you'll receive!

Here's the source of some of her images:

I don't believe the seller has 2 bags nor do i think she made an "honest" mistake.

An honest seller doesn't steal pictures from other sites. (See my post above showing the source of several of the pictures.)

Note that the collection of patchwork bags is a highly faked collection with some close fakes. Fortunately for you, it's not an unusual enough style that you won't be able to find the same bag from another seller.

I'd let the seller know your concerns, and if you don't want to complete the transaction, tell her why.

If you do decide to purchase it, fund the paypal payment with a credit card for an extra layer of protection in case you aren't happy with what you get. And if you do purchase, please come back and post pictures of the bag you received.

And judging by the measurements of the pictures stolen from the Modnique listing, that bag is actually a Cosmetics case, the measurements are only 7x4.5x3, which is the size of a wallet except for the depth.

saraannthornton needs to be a lot more careful about which photos she steals.

If the bag is New WOT why does the hangtag look as if it's been run over by a truck? It has scratches and wear marks on it.

Thanks BeenBurned -- that's despicable that she took the images from that site ... And you're right, anyone who can take those photos of herself clearly knows how to take pictures!! I should've looked more carefully &viewed her other listings- if I'd seen those other pics I never would've bid from her, that's sketchy in itself.

Ugh, I *hate* getting scammed ... Whether it's real or not, she's falsely representing her item.

Can someone tell me the best way to handle this? Do I tell her what Hyacinth found her just open an eBay dispute? I'm trying to get the transaction cancelled through PayPal right now. What a mess.

I've never seen one beginning with "C1" before.

First, I'll comment regarding the serial number. It's not "C1," but rather, C13. C=the month of manufacture -- March (A=Jan., B=Feb., etc.) and 13= 2013, the year of manufacture.

Although most of the bags in this style do have the side to side clip, it appears that (at least in March), they did the "front to back" style.

Here's another listing from the same month and factory:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/COACH-24341...141?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item43c0bcbbc5
and another:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Coach-F...039?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item3cd71f5ab7

Another possibility is that during March, that factory made a "mistake" and attached the clip in the wrong place. There are rare instances where mistakes are made and because these possible mistakes are from the same month, plant and color, it's more likely that it was simply a mistake that was caught and corrected. (Another thing I noticed is that the mistake happened in the same color bags.)

You're welcome.

I made suggestions in this post how to go about letting the seller know:
http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-shopping/authenticate-this-coach-818914-464.html#post25561555

Since the listing just ended yesterday, she probably hasn't shipped yet so contact her, if need be, refer her here, and tell her that rather than having her ship, you want a refund of your full payment.

Hopefully, she'll oblige rather than forcing you to open a dispute. A dispute would ding her account, something a seller really doesn't want to happen. It's usually recommended that buyers try to resolve issues with the seller before opening disputes so try that first.

And if she refunds and cancels, I'm hopeful that she'll relist her item honestly and with her own pictures.

Thanks for the help and info from both of you ladies!

*BeenBurned~ Sorry, a bunch of posts popped up at the same time so I didn't see your response until after I posed the question again- really appreciate your help and advice =). Interesting that she's already relisted it, hmmm.

*Hyacinth~ I referenced your comment regarding the wear on the hang tag and the blatant issue with the two bags when I contacted her. I just hope whoever wins her new auction sends the actual pics here.

Thanks again ladies~ you saved me from a huge hassle and losing money! Have a great Sunday!!!
