Hello, I got this bucket tote at a flea market for $65. I've been waiting for a green bucket tote, and it was in great shape. Can anyone authenticate/give information about the year? Thanks!

It seems ok. Measurements would help, but if it's a large bag it would have to be a Duffle Sac, probably early 1990s.

I know it's been way over a month since I got the purse, and I don't know if you even remember me... but I thought I'd let you know that I loved the Coach purse. I bought it to give to my grandma and I hope she'll love it too, it's the perfect size for her.

Thanks for your help, once again.
That's wonderful! I'm so glad you love it! You're welcome, again. :D

Hi,

Can you help me authenticate this Coach Court bag #9870 please? I examined the stitches and the bag overall and it seems fine, but the creed tag seems a little off. In the other court bags I've seen, the serial number doesn't typically look this messy where each number is embossed on separately...

Thank you in advance!

Did the little birdie tell you what looked off? I understand that "birdies" don't want to get too specific but it's kind of confusing when they send these messages without being specific enough!

I don't see any problems with the bag in question nor with any of the seller's other listings. (Although the seller improperly used Coach's stock photos in a bunch of listings, other pictures in the listings, although not great don't have any red flags.)

Specifically, the larger "weave" (as opposed to the smaller pieces of woven leather) is too wide.. on other bags there is actually two separate pieces of leather creating the larger weave, on my bag there is just one solid piece of leather creating the larger weave.. it's a tiny detail but I definitely did notice the difference once it was pointed out.. I don't know if it means anything in terms of the bag's authenticity or if it's just a strange manufacturing "defect" :shrugs:

It looks fine. The serial number was on a stamp roller so it was common for them to be a little uneven. You can see the overstamping marks of the numbers and letters that came before and after. It looks similar to other creeds from the same plant around the same time of manufacture.

Yeah, that's were I'm confused. According to this guide and after taking a look at the serial numbers on 1998 and 1997 bags that were made in the United States, it seems the numbers were stamped in a way where you wouldn't see the marks on either the top or the bottom of the number as you would here: s22.postimg.org/kuf7diyts/image.jpg

Hello Authenticators, I recently received this bag & a little birdie told me something looked off (the weaving may be too thick?) please help, I'm really not sure as it looks & feels okay to me, but the weaving is definitely thicker than other woven lailas i've seen (in pictures) ... thank you!!!

I don't have that actual bag to compare to and I can't find any others from the same date and plant however, I don't see problems.

Other opinions are certainly welcome.

I wonder whether the differences you're noting in the weave are on 19747 vs. a similar style,

I found this video where the style is the same one and the leather appears thicker and similar to yours.

Hmm. Here's a possibility. Your creed shows the style number as 19747 and the video has the same type of leather.

This listing shows 19747 in the title, but the picture of the creed and the description state the style as 19746. I wonder if that's the difference.

CAVEAT!! Be very wary of guides you find on the internet. Many are incomplete, outdated or just plain wrong.

In fact, the guide you posted shows a creed with K3H as the prefix. Without the full bag shown, it's tough to authenticate, but the prefix is seen on many, many fakes! If a knowledgeable person is showing various examples, wouldn't they show a picture of a creed that is unquestionably authentic?

On another creed, I think I'm seeing "marXings," which would indicate that she is showing a creed from another "possible" fake.

I believe that her dates with regard to creeds are inaccurate too but Hyacinth is more expert in deciphering dates and plants than I am.

These guides are much more helpful and more importantly, accurate!

That makes sense.. Here's a side by side of the leather on my bag (left) and the leather from the listing you shared, and then mine (left) vs another parchment Laila

I just got this super dark green one at a thrift store in NYC :) It looks good to me, with a center seam in the bottom and a metal zipper and good-looking creed. but what do you guys think?
The side attachments seem like they've taken some wear - can't tell if they're too flimsy to be genuine or just very worn.

here's the photo of the creed: http://imgur.com/a/e9BDd
hardware is brass but VERY scratched, with mostly a silver tone now.
