First time uploading so I hope it turns out ok. I found this beauty at a thrift store for $5. Creed is hard to read but it looks like F90-9170. The leather is in pretty good shape but I still want to try my hand at rehab so I was going to dunk her and condition to see how she turns out. Hang tag is still attached but I took it off prior to cleaning.

Thanks in advance

Please try to get a photo of the creed and serial number. I know it's a PITA with smaller bags but we always need that for authentication. Thanks!

Hi! Hoping you can help me see if this Legacy Signature Duffle 21149 is indeed real or a fake.
Was purchased from AMAZON.com at THECORNERSTORE by my friend.

Seems ify on it. Also has NO tag inside saying *MADE IN*..
Thankfully it is under Amazon's return policy so can go back if need be~

THANKS!!!!!!

I think it's fine.

It looks like different plants had different creeds and wording. My guess is that your bag has a tag or label sewn into the seam that says "made in China."

ETA: Here's a listing (also looks fine to me) with the same text and plant as yours:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NWT-Coach-L...437?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item485b6a9315

And here's one from a different Chinese factory that has "China" on the creed:

Are you sure there's no tag showing where it was made sewn somewhere inside the bag? There should be one along a seam. It might be a black fabric tag or a half-sheer long white tag that feels slick like vinyl. Any item sold in the US has to have one, I'm not sure about other countries. But I assume Coach puts the tags in all their products no matter where they're made or sold.

Any time you see a Made in Korea stamp in a bag or wallet, you can safely report it. Coach never made bags in Korea, and I've never seen a Korea wallet either. The fake wallets will usually be copies of the old pebbled leather Sheridans and include tacky fake "authenticity papers" with fake patent numbers too.

EDITED TO ADD - someone beat you to it, it's already gone. ;)

Thanks Hyacinth! I did. I don't mind if someone wants to just buy something because they like it, but selling something for something it is not is not good. I see a lot of this type of thing in antique jewelry too but there's almost no fail-safes with that because it's so subjective.

Think of it as generic antique jewelry vs antique Tiffany jewelry. Or any of the highly collectible costume jewelry makers from the 20s thru the 50s - same thing. Any time something has a brand name or trademark, duplicating it without the trademark owner's permission is illegal as long as the trademark is still protected by law. At least Coach is still around to enforce their trademark protection. The laws are there, just like with books and videos and music, to protect the rights or the original trademark or copyright holder and ANY violation of those rights is illegal, even if a seller claims "I don't know if it's real" or admits out in front that it's fake.

Unfortunately some countries especially in Asia don't have any effective anti-counterfeiting laws so making fakes has been a way of life for years, sometimes centuries. And luxury goods like Meissen porcelains have been faked in Europe for centuries too.

If someone wants to buy no-name knockoffs that don't violate anyone's trademarks, that's fine with me. But deliberate deception is a whole different story. Then both the buyer and the copyright or trademark owner are being cheated.

Hello and thank you in advance for your expertise.

Can you please authenticate this handbag?

Thanks!

The fake Kristins I've seen have been pretty obvious so far. I don't own this exact style to compare it to but the bag in the photos looks like a genuine Kristin Elevated Leather Flap Satchel.

More opinions are always welcome.
