Colors are usually going to be black, British Tan and maybe navy on older bags, plus maybe a red or brown shade. Colors changed by the season and by the year and can't really be narrowed down, and there wasn't a lot of variety. My catalog collection is limited to only a few issues a year and doesn't include all the available colors.

The bag itself is genuine, and you very seldom see them on Ebay..

I wanted to add that the only color I've ever seen these in on ebay is mahogany brown. I've probably seen less than 5 in a year.

I had to laugh! Did you read BTMVintage's description? If you did that "research," wouldn't it be cause to question authenticity? Good grief!

It has an unusual label for a Coach bag ("This is a Coach Bean Bag. It is made of a completely natural glove-tanned cowhide..." etc.), and research yielded only baffled commentary from other vintage lovers...while the inside is certifiably suede, and quite soft at that, the outside does not appear to be leather.

I clicked on report this item on etsy, but the reporting guidelines look like you can only report if you are the intellectual property owner or the buyer. If you are the buyer, you can only report for nonreceipt.

Hi - I'm a newbie here hooked on this great forum!
I read all the listings and have learned so much so THANKS to
all the "regulars" for so much invaluable help!!

Just wanted to give my humble opinion about the color....
You can easily adjust the color before uploading pics to ebay
You can add more contrast, make colors more muted or deeper, etc.
To me it seems like the seller might have "adjusted" the shade a tad bit to make it more outstanding.
Not a good idea as it can be misleading of course.
You should ask if that was done or if the color is true to the photos.
It sure is pretty!

Could someone please authenticate this for me? The creed is 0884-312.
It's brown pebbled leather and is about 10 inches across 7 1/2 inches high and depth is 2 1/2". If you need more pictures, please let me know.

BB was going over this with me on the AT Dooney forum. It seems that Etsy likes to "hide" behind this and is non responsive when you report a fake, as I tried to do twice.

Unfortunately, the bag ended up selling.
I won't do business with them until/unless they clean up their act.

My opinion of Etsy, Listia, Poshmark, Ioffer and other sites that do NOTHING to protect buyers (of fakes) or the intellectual property of rights owners can't be expressed on a public forum. I'd be censored!

I wish those sites would be on the receiving end of a lawsuit.

It's a Charleston Bag from the Sheridan line, style number 4217 and made in 1992 or 93.

I wondered about that. You aren't supposed to list items that don't fit their vintage criteria, but I see plenty of things listed that aren't vintage. I wonder if they ever remove anything.
