Absolutely NOT. Taft Bags - in fact all of Coach's "classic" and vintage styles from the 70s, 80s, and 90s, should NEVER have the name stamped on the buckle or any other hardware. The only exceptions are the Sonoma pebbled leather styles that use a mini version of the Coach hangtag in brass as a zipper pull.
Coach didn't start stamping some buckles until toward the end of the 1990s and it was usually just on a limited group of newer styles mostly with nickle hardware. Even on modern bags, Coach doesn't slap their name on every piece of metal on the bag, no matter WHAT those useless online "authenticity guides" claim. The more times the hardware is stamped, the better chance it is that the bag is fake. ANY Guide that claims you can tell a genuine Coach because the name is stamped on the hardware, OR because it has YKK zippers, is completely uselaee and a pile os misinformation and just plain LIES.
Tell your seller you want the bag and you'll take your chances. Also refer her to this post, along with my suggestion that she throw any links to any "guides" with similar information into the Recycle Bin, and read a set of Guides that's actually
correct. I'd suggest starting with the ones on "Authenticity Guides - Facts and Myths" and "The YKK Zipper Myth". But all the Salearea Guides are accurate, and so is the Daria48 Fake Serial Numbers list. These are the only Guides that I know for sure are accurate, because I did the research.
