I just got this one. It looks like a Willis but the inside makes me skeptical.
It has a 'COACH' hangtag-like zipper pull on the metal zipper inside.
There is also a fabric tag in the corner, in addition to the creed.
The creed says made in Korea and has a strange number in my opinion, but I'm no expert.

Are you sure the other one was exactly the same style number? There are 2 totes in the Westpost line too but I don't have measurements for either one. None of the three Westports are in any of my catalogs so all the information I have is from listing photos but the info on # 4243 is from a listing by GigiTrading and she was very accurate with names and measurements.

It's fake. There are tons of things wrong with it, but as soon as you see Made in Korea you know it is fake.

Coach has NEVER made bags in Korea. That alone proves it's fake, the other things you mentioned would never be found in a genuine Willis and there are all kinds of other problems with that bag. Please post where you bought this - if it's an Ebay or other auction listing the seller owes you a full refund. And please ask here before buying or bidding.

I bought it at a Salvation Army for $10 on the off chance it was real. shrug. the loss isn't too bad. and now I know what to avoid!

You're welcome. It's like a lesson in all the things counterfeiters screw up on. The stitching above the turnlock is wrong, the padding above the turnlock is the wrong shape, the turnlock itself doesn't look like a Coach turnlock, the leather pieces at the ends of the zipper shouldn't be there, the piecing on the bottom is incorrect - a Willis has a center bottom seam, and all those other things you mentioned. Coach actually used zipper pulls like that on a certain line of bags, but not on Willises and not on the inside pockets.

Good to know. When do you think this fake was made? The 'Coach' white tag in the corner of this bag is that kind of papery, plasticky super-thin material. So it must be a recent one, which is somehow more disappointing in my eyes.. ha :/

I have no idea. Yes, it is more disappointing to realize that the counterfeit business is still going strong and that it isn't just the new styles they fake.

No not sure at all. Could be I was fooled on dimensions. I will look through sold listings to see if I can find the one I saw. The problem is most sellers never really know the style or list the style number in the description so it's like looking for a needle in a haystack. I do know that the one I saw did have those same large nickel grommets that the straps came through. Is that a style detail for the Westport line?
