Happy long weekend, authenticators, I have a couple of purses I'd like you to look at. As you can see there are a few Sonomas, I do like the pebbled leather.

Item no. 390651205448
Seller: fashionforwardfl
Link: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/390651205448

Comment: this purse seems different than others, there is no hardware where the strap attaches to the body of the purse.

Item: Authentic vintage Coach Sonoma
Item no. 141048921953
Seller: happywinter2005

Comment: this is the same as the one above. Did Coach make style 4907 with different strap styles?

Item: Vintage Coach Sonoma Crossbody

Seller: lauraloveshandbags
Link: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/300955834143
Is this color authentic? This one does have hardware where the straps attach to the body.

I have a couple more but I'll put them on a separate post. Thanks for your input and time.

Here's a couple more:

First one is authentic. Second one is fake. It has an invalid creed. I'll be back to help with the others.

1- First of all, the seller should have just cancelled the listing until she could correct the title. Second, the buckled strap was replaced at some time with a different strap probably NOT made by Coach with clips instead of buckle grommets that come with the Equestrian styles. I've done that myself on a few bags. Third, there's no way I'd bid without some clarification from the seller about which bag she's actually selling. She's had the bag listed since at least August 22nd and STILL hasn't figured out that the name and serial number ae wrong in both the title AND the description?

She has ANOTHER listing with the same photos that's correctly listed as a style 9802.

2- still checking but looks ok
3- looks like a genuine Binocular Bag #9853 from about 1992. And I have no idea what it is.

The link for the third one is wrong. Should be http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Authentic-Vi...Leather-Bucket-Cross-Body-4907-/141048921953?
I've never seen this strap attachment before. I don't see anything that would lead me to believe it isn't authentic.

The fourth one looks okay. I think the color is most like picture 2.

Your link for #3 is wrong, is this the one you're asking about?

I'm not completely comfortable with that one. Let me do some digging.

I'm not completely comfortable with that one. Let me do some digging.

You're right, that style should have a squared O-ring at each end of the strap. I've looked through the 1996 and 1997 catalogs and neither the Natural Grain nor the Nubuc version #4933 have a strap that's sewn directly onto the bag. There's no physical evidence in the catalogs that Coach changed the strap mountings but it's always possible.

The leather in that listing looks a bit odd though, it's seems thin especially on the strap. And while the creed has a valid plant code for the year AND an outlet stamp, the description of the leather is wrong. My own choice is to pass on bags with details I'm not comfortable with but that doesn't mean I think it's fake.

Interestingly, the other questionable tan one from Snippets #380706100135 that's also missing the hardware at the strap base also has a serial number with the wrong plant code and wrong description, but the other details seem ok. Again, if I'm not comfortable with all the details my choice would be to pass.

Would somebody mind authenticating this vintage bag that I thrifted? Thanks!! It's so pretty I really hope it's the real deal.
