A confession, though...back in 2009 I got snookered by a fake scribble hobo POS (with a U country code), with plastic trim! It was only $.89 at a Goodwill, so no huge loss, just disappointment! Then I got smart, found tpf and read every authentication post since February of 2012...and learned a lot. I can't thank you (and BeenBurned and whateve and others) enough for sharing your time and expertise with us! Comparing the 2 bags is an education in itself.

I just want to comment on the scribbles and fakes. Although the fake you bought with the invalid month code is a more obvious fake (once you know the difference), some of the scribbles have been pretty "well faked," in that they have the correct style number (sometimes) and some even what looks like the correct lining in the right color.

For example, I saved this picture several years ago. Unfortunately, I must have trashed the creed picture, but the creed had "5659" as the style number and the lining was turquoise. The bag is trying to copy 5659 and those who don't know what to look for can be fooled.

Wait for other opinions on texasbaglady2's listing but it's probably fake. The serial number is on Daria48's list and about 1/3 of the way down, is deemed as "probably always fake." I think there's the possibility that there may have been ONE bag that had that specific random serial number but since it's been seen on many fakes, the likelihood that this is the "correct" authentic one is unlikely.

I agree, the so-called Station Bag from " texasbaglady2 " has a fake serial number, the font of the numbers is wrong, and a "gotcha" for BeenBurned - take a good look at the spelling of the creed words and tell me what you see.

This is the third or fourth questionable or obvious fake from seller texasbaglady2 just in the last month or two - its time to recommend that members avoid her listings.

That seller also has an apparently fake Stewardess Bag with an invalid serial number month code S5B-9525, a partial "box" around the serial number, and a "puffy" creed that I think has been reported before:

It looks authentic. For bags made before 1994, which don't have the style number in the creed, we need measurements. It might be a classic pouch.

It's not a stewardess. Those have a turnlock closure and a small pocket under the flap and feet on the bottom.
