:blushing:

OH dearie. I had to search for one tape measure and another is MIA, I need to buy more -.-. Thank you for your help :) I got to run out and fetch the purse for my gf. She's now washing it and getting ready to rehab it :). Thank you very much for your help ^^

(I'm gonna go pack a shopping purse for myself outfitted with all the stuff I need)

Hey, we haven't even mentioned something that some members take shopping - a copy of the Fake Coach Serial Numbers List! :D

Seriously, the mini flashlight is a big help even if people give you strange looks when you use it. And the jewelers loupe is an absolute MUST for garage sales or any place where you might find some interesting jewelry. A tape measure is another Must for garage sales where you can't try clothing on.

Could someone please authenticate this for me?

It's black leather with no pockets in the back. It's appx 7 H x 10.5 W x 3 D.

The creed is 495-2903. If you need anything else, please let me know.

Thanks!

Comments: I need a white strap however any strap is kind of hard to come by on ebay. I saw this one. They are only asking 15.00. That's lower than what I've seen and I was concerned because the hardwear says coach on it (stamped). I read that real straps don't have coach stamped on it???? So.....I will leave it up to your experts! Thanks!

The one in the listing may be ok. I don't know where you heard that real straps don't have stamps - like every other so-called "rule" there's NO one all-in-one Rule that covers every single thing in that category. SOME clips for SOME styles have a stamp, others don't. SOME buckles for SOME styles have stamps, others don't. One very specific type of clip will NEVER have a stamp. Even some rivets for a very few styles can have stamps. Please don't trust any similar statements found in any Guides unless you ask about them here first. Even rules like the "Patchwork bags should always have patchwork on both sides" can have an exception, depending on how you define "patchwork".

Coach has probably made close to 10,000 different purse styles by now - don't depend on any "Rules" that covers all of them, it's impossible and anyone who claims they have a list of unbreakable Rules is full of **it.. The only exception is the Rule that Coach handbags were never made in Korea.

A good smartphone is invaluable, too - mine has a camera with a good macro lens (great as a loupe as well as for photos) a flashlight app and a searchable text copy of the Fakes list plus the TPF app :)
I also have a measuring tape app lol.. but it doesn't work as well as my real tape.

Mind you, with all that artillery and great knowledge gathered here, I still can manage to buy a Foach that has "scrtches" in the creed... :banghead:

It looks like a genuine Companion Bag, style 9300, as long as those are "K"s in "wrinkles" and "markings" and not "X"s. It's really hard to tell from the photo, some lighting angles can make one letter look like the other.

Thanks, Hyacinth. I just checked and it does have the correct letters. :smile1:

I'll admit that normally I don't pay much attention, though.

It's always a really good idea to read the creeds carefully and check for misspellings and mistakes, or for wording that sounds like it came from a bad translation program. Coach always paid attention to the basic rules of American English spelling, grammar, and punctuation when making the creed stamps.

Yes, I know. It's a bad habit of mine.
Do you see many authentic bags with misspellings?

No. In fact I can remember (vaguely) maybe one, and that was one of the newer styles from around 2009. I don't remember the details though. But I don't remember any genuine classic of vintage bags with spelling or grammar mistakes. The creed stamp would probably never have been approved for use, but that's JMO.

Wow. I'm surprised to hear that. With all the bags they've made I'd assume some left with spelling errors.

The wallet seems okay. Other opinions are welcome.

Comments: This looks like my original legacy tan bag but as a hand held. I am thinking 60's bag. May I please have authentication and ID or do I need to go to the other thread. You guys rock!

Sorry I can't help with a name. But I was just looking for something else in the photo files I've saved of the Archives - and look what I found - top shelf on the right! :D

No, because the creed stamp was a single piece made by Coach or their approved manufacturer. Each plant would probably have usually one stamp, maybe two for a really busy plant, but those were very valuable pieces of hardware and made and treated accordingly.
