Hello! I have a bag that says it was made in New York City. It has a raised area where the serial number is like it was attached afterwards. Can you please let me know if this is authentic? Thank you so much!!

Could someone have a look at this MFF Coach bag for me?
Bought it at Goodwill today. I'm not nuts about the zipper closure...those things are a pain, but thought it was cute for summer!
Approx 10"w x 10"h x 4"d Strap drop 7"
The closest name I've found is Hamptons Signature Satin C Scribble Tote Bag. Is this correct?
And is it from 2007?
As always, Thanks in advance!

It's authentic. I agree that those top zippers are a PITA but they do thwart pickpockets!

I never understood why they called that bag "scribble," but it is a scribble tote.

The "Scribble" description is from the way the Cs are "drawn" as if someone just took a crayon and colored in an outlined C with just a few swipes of the crayon, leaving streaks of color and gaps without any color. Obviously it's easier to see on the Multicolor versions.

Most Scribbles, at least the mid-2000s styles, were all called "Hamptons Weekend Scribble..." followed by the style of the bag. I don't have a confirmed name for the one in that post but it's an updated version of a 2005 style - the style numbers were changed starting in mid-2006 when Coach switched to 5-digit style numbers since the original style only has a 3-digit style number. Yours is the "standard", i.e. Medium size, there were also Small and Large versions.

The one in the post is an updated/Factory Store version of style 247, Hamptons Weekend Scribble Tote. Here's a pic of the earlier version as well as a smaller tote style # 203 showing Coach's official name.

And that's probably a lot more than you ever wanted to know about Scribbles! :D

I have a couple others I'm curious about, too, so if it's not too much trouble, can someone also help with these two, please:

Item: Coach Leather Handbag NWOT
Listing number: 121106756842
Seller: stephenmosca
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/121106756842?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
Comments: I haven't seen anything like this one before. What is it, please?

Item: Authentic COACH signature HOBO BAG TOTE PINK
Listing number: 121140142534
Seller: irinashopping
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/121140142534?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
Comments: I had thought the 5-digit style number came into use in 2006. Was it actually late in 2005?

As always, thanks very much!

I don't have an example of a US "M" plant date code this "new". This one looks sort of cramped together to me. Is this an authentic bag?

Item: COACH CLASSIC WILLIS
Listing number: 261241336163
Seller: vikingfanman4

Comments: This seller has had counterfeit bags removed in the past...

I haven't noticed any either, but that doesn't prove they didn't make them. Not enough proof either way on that one.

I'm not sure why my images are doubling...sorry about that.
I made the dumb mistake of buying a saddle bag with a blurry creed- thought M7N- was legit, but this bag is obviously fake. My problem is that the seller is insisting it is authentic and won't accept the return unless I provide 'proof'.
I would appreciate your help:)

1- Fake. Fake style. Cheap thin strap and wrong kind of strap clips. Too-small hangtag taken from a keychain. wrong kind of flap closure in a style and hardware never used by Coach. The only thing it's missing is the "Coach New York" stamp that's always off-center on the fakes.

2- Definitely genuine. Made in Dec 2005 but for the Spring 2006 season. Earliest 5-digit style code used in a bag that I've seen. So far, anyway.

Remember, dates we mention as "from" "to" or "until" are always subject to change if newer information comes up.

Without photos or links we have NO idea what you're talking about. If you can't post photos at least post the link to the auction, as we keep asking in the first post in this thread.

And why wouldn't a "M7N-" code be legitimate? You may have just accused an honest seller of selling a fake without any valid proof. I STRONGLY suggest that you not send her any more messages until you have valid confirmation about the bag either way.
