I don't think it is authentic either. I've never seen an M plant from 2001.

I haven't noticed any either, but that doesn't prove they didn't make them. Not enough proof either way on that one.

Thank you, Whateve and Hyacinth. I'll keep a photo of the creed patch on hand & watch for others like it.

1- Fake. Fake style. Cheap thin strap and wrong kind of strap clips. Too-small hangtag taken from a keychain. wrong kind of flap closure in a style and hardware never used by Coach. The only thing it's missing is the "Coach New York" stamp that's always off-center on the fakes.

2- Definitely genuine. Made in Dec 2005 but for the Spring 2006 season. Earliest 5-digit style code used in a bag that I've seen. So far, anyway.

Remember, dates we mention as "from" "to" or "until" are always subject to change if newer information comes up.
Thank you, Hyacinth -

I always appreciate your input, and it's always great to learn new things! (Now to reset my thinking about those 5-digit style numbers...old dog, new tricks & all that!)

Thank you:)
The ebay item number was 121132202645 and the seller was page*one

Thank you. The texture of the leather looks a bit strange. The bottom center seam is badly sewn too.

Other than the serial number, what problems have you noticed with the bag you bought? I can't find any other bags, real or fake, with an M7N- prefix so it's going to be tough to prove it's fake based only on the serial number. The nearest date I can find to yours is a genuine Neo from May 1998 with a Mexico creed and N plant code:

Ladies, I'd appreciate your help in not only authenticating this cute little gem but hopefully the name of the bag and year made. If I need to go to the ID This Bag thread, I'll do that. LOL

The lock twists to open and you simply push to lock. There isn't a pocket on the back.

It's in my possession...here are my pictures and if the creed one is hard to see...it reads 0299-301 and it's made in the United States of America. These little bags are very hard to photograph.

Measurements are: 7 1/2" long, 6" tall, 2 1/2" deep and the non-detachable strap has a drop of 20"

Thanks so much. I appreciate all you wonderful ladies do.

Yes- the leather does look very strange and 'plastic-y', it actually creaks when you open the flap or move it around. Another production 'issue' I noted- in the interior, the area above the zipper with the double stitching- it should be the raw side of the leather in this style, but this bag has smooth leather there.
Thanks again- I really appreciate your help looking at the listing and photos for me.

Hey, I'm not greedy - any qualified authenticator who knows the answers is always welcome to post. And there are some styles and time periods when it's much better to let someone who's more experienced give their opinion.

1- genuine Scout Bag style 9890 from 1991-92
2- it's hard to see just how off-center the creed actually is from those photos. It's probably genuine but a better and wider-view pic of the creed would help
3- looks like a genuine Soho Rivington Bag. Like Whateve said, always mention if a bag's been re-dyed or has any kind of polish on it.
Hello again.

Here are some pics of the camel 9060 bag with the off-center and lightly imprinted creed. The serial number is F8D-9060, I think it is made in the United States.

Any concerns to note?

Notes: a few things concern me and I'd appreciate your thoughts!

It may have been a remake that was an online or catalog-only item. What are the things you're concerned about?

ETA - I'm not sure but that may be the same bag that was listed on Ebay back in March - someone asked about a Rambler here, and I saved this creed photo the same day. Both creeds have an outlet mark in exactly the same place.

Thank you Whateve. (I tried the multi-quote feature for my last comment but didn't get it right).
They did not yet say I have to return the bag, so I will wait for a bit and destroy the creed on the inner pocket (by cutting the inner pocket out). The bag may be usable otherwise (I was thinking of donating it to homeless women I volunteer with, they often need bags). Should I completely destroy it or just the creed part?

Removing the creed should be sufficient. Donating it would be nice.

To multi-quote, you click on the circle between the quote and qreply buttons for each item you want to quote, except for the last one. That one you click the quote button.

OMG  I HAD NO IDEA HOW DO THIS!!!!! THANK YOU!!!

The price :D

I've not seen a rambler beyond the early 90s, the serial font looks odd, it had that questionable hyphenation in the Creed, and I've not seen the original rambler with nickel. There is one obvious thing there that helps me feel more comfortable. I guess I just needed reassuring!

The "Scribble" description is from the way the Cs are "drawn" as if someone just took a crayon and colored in an outlined C with just a few swipes of the crayon, leaving streaks of color and gaps without any color. Obviously it's easier to see on the Multicolor versions.

Most Scribbles, at least the mid-2000s styles, were all called "Hamptons Weekend Scribble..." followed by the style of the bag. I don't have a confirmed name for the one in that post but it's an updated version of a 2005 style - the style numbers were changed starting in mid-2006 when Coach switched to 5-digit style numbers since the original style only has a 3-digit style number. Yours is the "standard", i.e. Medium size, there were also Small and Large versions.

The one in the post is an updated/Factory Store version of style 247, Hamptons Weekend Scribble Tote. Here's a pic of the earlier version as well as a smaller tote style # 203 showing Coach's official name.

And that's probably a lot more than you ever wanted to know about Scribbles! :D
Thanks for the scribble explanation.

reposting - hopefully the pictures are a decent size this time.
I can't read the serial number but so far, I don't see any problems. If you can post a larger picture of the creed, it would help.

Was this purchased from an online listing somewhere? Please post a link to the listing.
