Hi everyone,

I'm new to coach handbags (all i own is a bangle) and hailing from Australia we see very few coach vintage pieces anyway, I was browsing through an Ebay Japanese consignment store and found this bag I liked it bought it THEN I did my research after I purchased it :( naive me.

I believe it's a Madison Copley (looking at previous posts), but then I'm not sure and I think circa 1994 from deciphering the creed. Can you girls please help me confirm it's authenticity and perhaps model, colour etc....

Very much appreciated (sorry I'm also new to TPF and this will be my first post...so apologies if the format is not correct)

You're correct that it's a Madison Copley, made in June 1994. The color looks like Beechnut. Nice find, especially since it still has the original shoulder strap. :smile1:

Hello! I would love some help!:)
Item: Coach zip around wallet
Item #: 171069203828
Seller: lesser.scaup

Wallets especially newer ones are almost impossible to authenticate, even if you happen to have a genuine wallet in the same style to compare it to. All I can say is that it's probably ok but wait for more opinions.

And we ask that you not repost your question if no one's answered six hours later, especially when those six hours are in the middle of the night in the US. Thanks!

Thanks hyacinth... it was my random find of the month, i paid 88 AUD for it waiting for it in the post, i thought it was alright price since it was all leather and looked almost new :D do you know how much it is worth and where I can possibly find more info on it? Thanks in advance :)

First for me... had an item reported as counterfeit. I know that this is the pocket organizer #7825, but apparently someone else thinks it's fake. Please look at this and let me know your thoughts and I'd also appreciate any advice that you may offer as to what to do when this happens. It's approx. 4x6 TIA

I don't see any problems with it.

Do you have a general idea as to the year it was made? If I can find it in one of my scanned catalogs I can post the photo. It's a longshot but worth a try.

ETA - never mind, I found it. Give me a few minutes to get a photo posted.
It doesn't show a lot of details but it's the only useable pic I could find, from the 1993 Fall Preview catalog:

Thanks hyacinth! Now. .. what do you do when this happens?
I would suggest calling ebay, telling them that the item is indeed authentic and ask what you need to do to be allowed to relist it. They may require an authentication from a professional authentication service (such as authenticate4u).

They might accept TPF if you send links to these posts. (Check your PMs)

Thank you again Hyacinth for that. You confirmed my suspicions.

What to do with a fake? Send it back to the seller, destroy it...?

Contact the seller and ask for your money back. If the seller wants it back, tell her she has to pay the shipping cost. Most of the time the seller will want you to ship it back. If she doesn't, then you can destroy it, but make sure you get your money back first.

Thank you Whateve. I did get my money back from paypal disputes. They closed the claim but I called them today and told them to message the seller to pay for return shipping costs if they want the bag back. I didn't think it was fair that I had to pay that if it was not real.
The help on this forum is amazing! Thank you all again.

When Paypal refunded your money as a result of the dispute, did they say you had to return the bag? If you already got your money back, I don't think you have any obligation to return the bag. Technically, it is illegal to ship counterfeits.

Some of us on the forum would save the leather to use for repair projects but destroy the fake creed patch.
When paypal issues a refund without directing you to return the fake, you're under no obligation to do so.

I agree that if the seller wants it, you shouldn't be out money to return it. But if she's smart (and thrifty), she'll just direct you to destroy it since she can't resell it anyway. That way, neither of you will be out any money for the return of a fake.

It looks okay to me too.

(I am trying out the multi-quote feature here)

Thank you Whateve and BeenBurned for the advice. This is my first time dealing with a fake (that I know of) and wasn't sure about the return policy. I always had to return for other seller issues, so assumed I would for this as well. Paypal didn't tell me to return the bag before giving me the money, and the seller said nothing about it either ("I give full refund. Good luck.") so maybe I will just deal with it here. I did not realize that I could be in trouble for shipping a counterfeit as well so I will tell them that if they now say I do have to return the bag.
Again, this is a great forum and thank you all for the great advice.

Thank you Whateve. (I tried the multi-quote feature for my last comment but didn't get it right).
They did not yet say I have to return the bag, so I will wait for a bit and destroy the creed on the inner pocket (by cutting the inner pocket out). The bag may be usable otherwise (I was thinking of donating it to homeless women I volunteer with, they often need bags). Should I completely destroy it or just the creed part?
