I've got the same bag - but with a short ( 8" drop) non-adjustable strap. Based on the creed they appear to be from a similar time frame. Later Spectator City Bags have style # 9667 (based on Whateve's bag here: http://coachbagrehab.blogspot.com/2012/05/coach-style-numbers-and-photos.html?/m=1 ) but can't say whether Coach used a different style number for these prior to that. 9667 was the style number given to the newer Spectator City Bag made around 2000-2001. The older version from around 1990 was 6790. The strap in your photo has been changed by one of the owners but it's still a 6790.

Thanks, Hyacinth! They did a nice job shortening the strap - when I look closely at it, I see the holes where the original stitches were.

First photo is the original side, second is the side that was taken up. ImageUploadedByPurseForum1367198586.754360.jpgImageUploadedByPurseForum1367198665.402291.jpg

It's a fake. The inside zipper mounting is wrong and the top zipper pull tab is the wrong shape. There are other mistakes but those are the major ones
just saw this and reported it ....so annoying....Ebay allows so few characters...ggrr...only had room to put url of this message...hope the poor sucker who bought it gets her money back...

Yep, in your first set of pictures the last 2 inches of the strap on the left side of the first picture has a slightly lighter color stitching than the rest. Whoever did it removed the shorter piece with the buckle and permanently sewed on the longer piece.

Just want to confirm this is fake. Thanks in advance.

Yes, probably. There's a miniscule chance that a plant may have made two serious mistakes in the serial number - Invalid month AND plant codes ("i" was only used for Turkey), and I don't think the Anderson Zip was made in 2001. It's hard to see but the inside pocket zipper doesn't look like it's the right size for the pocket either.

I got the style number from Hyacinth's authentication on another spectator city bag about a year ago. This is my original post: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-shopping/authenticate-this-coach-694619-663.html#post21681585. Her answer follows in the next post. The style number is on the blog list too, with a ?

Do both ends of your strap look the same? I wonder if the original strap was damaged and the previous owner had it shortened. Anyway, we're sort of twins :)
