When they first switched to the modern numbering system in 1994, the "Made in..." line was still put at the bottom. Different plants switched to including it in the body at different times. You will find some 1995 items with the line across the bottom. This appears to be an authentic Taylor zip. The zipper looks pretty rumpled but that seems common with this style.
Thanks Whateve, more exceptions!!!
have a great day!

Hi everyone! I picked up 2 Coach items today. the first is a small city bag - is that called a Dinky bag? It is 8.75L X 6.75H X 2 As always, thanks a bunch for your time and effort!:smile1

It looks like an authentic pocket purse, although mine is 9 1/2 inches wide and 6 inches tall.

Hi,

Can anyone authenticate these Coach Court bags?

1. The first is in a beige/stone colour. It seems to be in very good condition, but I don't know if Coach every made their original Courts in this beige/stone colour. Can anyone confirm?

2. And the second, in a tan colour. Also in excellent condition, though it seems to be missing a hangtag. I also had the same question that Hyacinth had about the nickel hardware. Most of the circa 1998/1999 Court bags I found online seem to have brass hardware, so I was quite surprised to see this one with nickel. Does anyone know if Coach produced the Courts in both types of hardware?

3. Lastly, should I be looking for authenticity cards? I seem to recall getting one when I got my Coach bag in 1996, but maybe that's just my imagination...

Thanks!
Sorry I didn't get to these sooner. They are both authentic. Bone is an authentic color. The second one is probably camel. I have a Rambler's Legacy in that color with nickel hardware from the same year and plant. It is brushed nickel, rather than shiny silver. Coach bags used to come with a card to send in to register your bag. They were still including it in 1996 but it didn't make any sense once they no longer had unique serial numbers. I guess they discontinued it sometime after that. There wasn't an authenticity card, as such, like you get with Chanel where you could match the numbers.

1- it seems ok. And Coach made Court Bags in Bone in 1998.

2- looks ok, and yes they did.

3- absolutely NOT. What does a piece of paper prove? The whole "authenticity card" thing is a scam used by counterfeiters. If the crooks can fake a purse, what's so hard about faking a piece of printed paper? There's no such thing with Coaches and Coach has never used them.

And most of the Registration Cards I've seen on Ebay and other online sites are fake and so are the bags they're included with, especially if they're recent styles.

Looks okay to me too.

The wallet looks okay but wallets are tricky. Please wait for another opinion.
