Hyacinth, thanks so much, I finally got a city willis :smile1: I wanted to know something, in 1999 did they also offer the nickel hardware? Or did that start in 2000?
I have a Rambler's Legacy with nickel hardware that was made in September 1999. In the Fall 1999 catalog, there were bags with nickel hardware. I think that might have been the earliest.

Oh Whateve, thanks, I'm really hoping that mine turns out to be brass and not nickel, the seller says she thinks its brass, but it was packed up already, in the pic I can't quite tell.

I really love the nickel on my Rambler's Legacy. I didn't think I would but it is so much prettier than the standard silver hardware. It has a matte finish. I bet yours is brass. It looks like it in some of the pictures and she mentions brass in the description. It looks like a really pretty bag.

I've found a few different dates. It's possible that nickel was available at least on a few briefcases and business bags as early as 1996. A few Soho bags offered it with limited leather colors in Spring 1997, but most styles gradually started making it available starting in Spring or Summer 1998.

I forgot I had the Soho belted pouch from 1997! It has shiny silver hardware rather than the brushed nickel of my Rambler's Legacy. That is what I was thinking of when she asked about nickel. Was the shiny hardware called nickel too?

It was all called nickel, AFAIK, until Coach started using "silver" but that's a more recent thing.

Hi ladies! I recently won an auction on ebay for a coach wallet, could someone please advise me on its authenticity and possibly style? All opinions are welcome! Thanks!

Item: Authentic Coach Wallet With Tags And Authencity Card RRP $218
url: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Authenti...city-Card-RRP-218-/151031304478#ht_500wt_1288

There is no Coach store near me so I have to go on ebay..
It looks like style #F47286 Alexandra Optic Slim Envelope Wallet and it appears authentic. There is no such thing as an authenticity card.

It seems okay to me too.

I think they're referring to the care card as an authenticity card, but keep in mind that even care cards can be faked.

Good morning ladies,
would you mind having a look at this sad little one, needs some love, ( yeah, I've got the rehab bug! lol)
However,........ I had thought that when Coach went to the alphanumeric code , they also switched to including the country of origin in the creed, i.e. "This is a Coach bag.... made in Hungary/United States..." or wherever. This one has the "made in the United States" line at the bottom. So, one of the exceptions, or a fake?
Thanks for your time,

When they first switched to the modern numbering system in 1994, the "Made in..." line was still put at the bottom. Different plants switched to including it in the body at different times. You will find some 1995 items with the line across the bottom. This appears to be an authentic Taylor zip. The zipper looks pretty rumpled but that seems common with this style.

Hi,

Can anyone authenticate these Coach Court bags?

1. The first is in a beige/stone colour. It seems to be in very good condition, but I don't know if Coach every made their original Courts in this beige/stone colour. Can anyone confirm?

2. And the second, in a tan colour. Also in excellent condition, though it seems to be missing a hangtag. I also had the same question that Hyacinth had about the nickel hardware. Most of the circa 1998/1999 Court bags I found online seem to have brass hardware, so I was quite surprised to see this one with nickel. Does anyone know if Coach produced the Courts in both types of hardware?

3. Lastly, should I be looking for authenticity cards? I seem to recall getting one when I got my Coach bag in 1996, but maybe that's just my imagination...

Thanks!
