Absolutely! There are a TON of fake keychains out there so it's always important to have them checked. There are at least two highly qualified keychain experts here that can help.

YAY!!!! Ok...this is a keychain that I bought quite a while ago and tried to sell it but was told that it's fake. I contacted the buyer who swore that it was real and even gave me the name of the manager of the coach store where she bought it and sent me a link regarding the keychain's authenticity. The person that told me that it is fake is very reputable...but the seller is adamant!

It's authentic and perfectly_charmed's guides are accurate.

ETA: I'd love to know the "reputable" person who told you it was fake, if for no other reason than to BBL them. You may PM me if you don't want to post publicly.

I don't mind and I don't think that she would either. I'll pm you and let her know as well. In her defense...the pics that I posted on the sell site were pretty crappy and I never corrected them after she questioned the keychain. She was concerned about the cut of the metal not being clean I believe and I think that was a direct result of my bad pics!

Hello, Could you please authenticate this station bag?
Item: Brittish Tan Leather Station bag # A4L-5130
Listing number:171005215413
Seller: trunorthlilbear
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Authentic-C...AZTzmCqwYydRo%2BAP0Rs%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
Comments: The creed seems different from other 5130 station bags. And the leather feels thinner than the other station bag I have. So could you help me confirm it? Thank you a lot!

Hi ladies - I just won a bid for what I hope is a Brown Stewardess....I don't have measurements and the creed is hard to read, but can, you tell me what you think before I pay? Any opinion at all would be helpful for measurements, but since it is Goodwill, I doubt anyone can give me a response...thanks!!!!:smile1:

Could be, it has the right strap. I can't think of anything else made after 1988 with that strap and a turnlock, but I won't swear to it..

You can only compare creeds with other bags made in the same plant, month and year. The style number doesn't control the creed format or how it's stamped except for bags made of special leathers or fabrics.

I'm worried about the contrast stitching especially on the inside pocket. There's another creed pic in my files that, like this one, uses a plant code that you almost never see during that time period and also has contrast stitching. They're both from the first half of 1994 when the new serial numbers were just starting to be used and maybe plant codes were temporary or changing. Both bags' creeds and serial numbers look as if they used the same stamp but with different production dates, and one also has an outlet bullet. Keep in mind that it's possible that stamps may have been passed around among temporary or part-time plants since they would have been scarce during that time period.

I'm worried about the sloppy stitching at the end of the strap in the second photo too, but that just may be due to a newly opened plant. I'm leaning toward genuine but can't be 100 percent sure.

Here are pics of both creed patches, with the one that "ilovesaturday" just asked about at the top, and the one from my files with the N plant code and outlet mark underneath. The third pic is of the strap end that I'm worried about. Other opinions are welcome.

Thanks so much for the detailed analysis, Hyacinth! The sloppy stitching is what I am concerned about as well. Actually, I didn't notice it before I won the bid. I searched a bit and found the other one also made in 1994 on ebay and it has the same creed style. But the strap is different. It has an adjustable strap with bucket, but mine doesn't.

I don't know if this will help but it's another creed from the same year and plant as the station bag being questioned. It's a different style bag.

Top picture is ilovesaturday's creed. Bottom one is from another ebay listing:

Style 41187 sounds right for the style number.
It's a small item, many of which may or may not have creeds and those with creeds may or may not have serial numbers.

This post may help:

I read the post. Does that mean we can't be certain it's legit, because it may or may not have a creed??
It's authentic.

I would have said I wasn't sure, nor would I have agreed with the style number if there were any question.

It's fine and you got a great deal.
