Always be very cautious when buying from seller azuremerekat - she "self-authenticates" her items and has made quite a lot of mistakes, including not removing bags that she had been told were fake.
This one is probably genuine.
Absolutely! There are a TON of fake keychains out there so it's always important to have them checked. There are at least two highly qualified keychain experts here that can help.
Just click on the Post A Reply button and post photos of the bag or the auction number or URL. We can't authenticate anything with just a serial number. The first post in this thread explains what information we need.
I agree with Whateve that the date code isn't right but that kind of mistake was often made by new plants especially where English wasn't the main language. The rest of it looks ok so the wonky month code isn't a problem.
Hello everyone! I picked up this bag today at a new (to me) thrift store in Boston, Urban Renewal, for 5.00 (gotta love 1/2 off colored tag days). Could someone authenticate it, if possible?....and the name? I know it is a Mercer but can't find any other info. Thanks so much!

It's a genuine Mercer Soft Flap.
It seems ok although the photos' colors are off especially with the leather color. From the "Tonal" line, style 40525 shown below.

Style 41187 sounds right for the style number.
It's a small item, many of which may or may not have creeds and those with creeds may or may not have serial numbers.
