Hi ladies:
First, you are awesome. Second, authentication on this auction would be much appreciated:

Item: COACH TAN BUCKET STYLE HANDBAG...Nice Bag!!!
Listing: 300869252690
Seller: brassbraxtonbraun
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/300869252690?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2648
Comments: I had been set on bidding on this as it looked real to me (hahaha) and as a perfunctory measure asked the seller to provide pics of the creed. She sent me three pictures, attached. From what I can make out the serial number is for a different style! From what I can see (and I may be mistaken) I read C9L 4150. This appears to map to a Fletcher bag and I even found an etsy listing for a Fletcher bag with the exact same serial number .

I found this old listing which I guess is from the same plant. Is it ever the case that someone goofs and gives a bag the wrong stamp? Could this still be authentic? Or maybe I am misreading the number?

For what it's worth, the seller says she got it at a Coach outlet sale about 8 years ago.

I won't say that it never happens since I own what I think is an authentic bag with the wrong style number, but you are right - that creed belongs in a Fletcher bag. This listing is not authentic. I don't recall ever seeing a Coach that looked like that.

The style looks like the Equestrian Slim Bucket 9806, but the serial number is a big problem. All the others I've found so far are all from the C or D plant and made in 1997 or 1998. So although it's possible for a plant to have made a mistake in stamping a style number it just seems odd that the bag the mistake is in shows a different plant and year. unless that's maybe WHY they made the mistake.

Here's one with the correct serial number for comparison:

Just a thought about where the seller says she bought it - bags with mistakes like that usually DID end up at the outlet store. That doesn't prove much though. It's strange that I haven't found any other Equestrian Bag in any of the 9 or 10 styles they made that was made in the same plant or within 6 months of the one you're asking about, unless this is an early example of a Made For Factory store (MFF) bag..

BeenBurned, you cited my fake Korea bag post here - I think you may have pasted in the one I linked to, instead of whichever one you meant to copy :)

You're correct. I mistakenly multi-quoted and included your fake Korea post. (I apologize for any confusion I may have caused.)

I was referring to the two bags that jacklightning1 posted as both being authentic:
The bags here are both authentic: http://s1104.beta.photobucket.com/user/tenacity1984/library/coach handbag

In fact, I did say that the "made in Korea" bag was fake here: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-shopping/authenticate-this-coach-763164-491.html#post24156615

That's a VERY bad fake. Do you own it and how long ago did you buy it, and can you still get your money back? (In the future please read post number 1 in this thread to learn the format we need used authentication requests. And never depend on Google for authentication help.)

The style is a complete fake, and if you look at the bag the sets of linked Cs are SIDEWAYS, not horizontal. Also style 6045 is a Signature Zoe and should look like this:

Edited to add - Hey, Whateve, I'm getting closer! ;)

Thank you so much Hyacinth! I was just about to buy it but the listing had ended already. :sweatdrop:

Thanks so much. I was wondering exactly that. So is there any other way to tell if it is authentic-with-mistake, or fake? Other details? It seems to look to my untrained eye exactly like the other equestrian slim buckets I have seen (i am in the market for one). On the other hand, I just found that korean fake of this style yesterday...(though it was easy to spot).

Edit: I also just noticed that the questionable bag seems to also have the stamp on the internal pocket without a zipper, compared to the other you listed.

Good point, and the stitching at the top of the pocket is too thick and is the wrong color to be real. What's so strange is that everything else seems ok.

Item: Coach Navy Leather Shoulder Bag
Listing number: 111021534028
Seller: swilkesann11 ( 0 )

Comments: Never seen a serial number with an M on the end.

Curious about this. Ive never seen a style like this before. What do you all think? Fake or Real and rare?

There are bags made for specific department stores that have letters at the end of them and in fact, Macy's exclusives have M.

But the bag in the listing from swilkesann11 is VERY fake!
