Hi all -

I think I've received one of the dreaded "J8" bags. After taking a close look at the bag, it is a mess - the creed is sewn on terribly, one of the straps is not even sewn on the back and one of the zippers is sewn in crookedly.

Could I ask you to take a look at this so I can send the post to the seller?

Thank you very much -

VERY fake! The "P" plant code belongs to Costa Rica, NOT the US, the magnetic snap is a cheap fake and not one of the name-brand and US Patent-numbered snaps that Coach uses, the cut and stitching of the trim around the inside pocket is really bad, and the style is supposed to be a Chelsea Satchel with Coach logo lining. The photo below shows a genuine creed from the US "D" plant and is the style number preceding the bag you're asking about.

And here's a listing for another bag in the same Chelsea line, made in the US and with the Logo lining:

I'm also posting a photo of a GENUINE creed with the J8P- prefix, the codes stand for - J-9th month (September), 8 - 1998, and P - Costa Rica plant. The P plant code would NOT have been used for a different plant in the same month and year.

Hope this helps!

I don't know a thing about sunnies but the shape of the Cs on both the case and the glasses is completely wrong. Contact the seller and insist on a full refund,

It's ironic that when I contacted the seller and demanded a refund that she responded "Hi open a case in resolution center (item not as described ) , and you will get your money back in 1 or 2 days ." Apparently I picked a real winner in my blindness!!!

Thanks again Hyacinth. I really appreciate you help! Have a very nice evening! :-)

Hi Ladies:

I also have a couple of thrift bags that I would appreciate your opinion on:

1. Serial # H9E-9816

2. Serial # L0D-9803

Thank you in advance.

I'm really uncomfortable with the first one. The E plant code was still being used regularly by the Italian plant, and the creed itself just doesn't feel right.

The second looks ok - Legacy West Day Tote.

Hello!
I need authentication please...I stumbled upon this because of a typo, and I am curious as to whether it's real or not...also not sure if this was intentional.

Black Coack Monogram Handbag
Ebay Listing: 271161763137
Site: http://www.ebay.com/itm/271161763137?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
Seller: presandchan1

FYI, seller has NO feedback.

TIA!! :graucho:

There's no creed photo, one of the photos is seriously out of focus, and there's nothing even listing a style or serial number. I wouldn't even try to guess if it's real.

OK, I'm really not posting this for authentication, but I'm really kind of curious and if you have time to look at it, fine, if not-it's too late the bag already sold.

I ran across this auction a little while before it ended, and it caught my eye because it is similar to the bag posted below, and I have not ever been able to find another burgundy bag with nickel hardware, even after perusing the way back machine quite a bit while researching my bag:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Caoch-Rambl...03deJBWbXvmKXxqKgI6XY%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

I asked the seller to post the creed and he said he would and never did. But looking at the details of this bag, and the details of my bag...just made me curious. The stitching is pretty much the same, the leather looks kind of the same too. The leather on my bag was almost OK for a new coach, I thought it was a little too wrinkley, but not quite wrinkley enough to raise a flag if it hadn't been for the stitching issues. Of course, mine has the funky creed too.

So, not sure why I'm posting this. I realize there is not enough info to authenticate the listing and I'm not trying to prove my bag is real, I just thought I'd bring it up as something to keep in mind when looking at these bags.

The box isn't from that bag, it looks like the stamp shows 9966, but it's not 9061. There's no problem with the silver hardware but obviously without a creed pic that's all I can say. Silver hardware was available with almost all the classic leather styles after 1998. I don't see any problems other than no creed photo.

The one that you'd asked about before just has too many mistakes to be real. A lot of fakes are almost identical to genuine Coaches in stitching and leather quality, it's the small details that they don't understand like serial number codes and using the right hardware and the correct length zipper where the fakes usually screw up.

Please post the seller's ID or a link to her active auctions so we can check for more fakes. It sounds as if she knows darn well her stuff is fake and she needs to be reported before she screws more buyers.

Thank you Hyacinth! The fonts aren't centered so it made me wonder...but you're right, it's hard to tell for sure if it's real or not.
I hope for the buyer's sake it is!
