I heard back from the seller. Apparently he had sold an LV that the buyer claimed was counterfeit so they removed all his listings for designer items.

Do you know anything about the leather on this bag? It is so smooth. It seems more elegant that my other bags from the 90's.

I wish I knew the answer to the leather question...I only owned 1 bag from the Equestrian line - mine was from 1997 and was the Equestrian Zip.

Though it had the same wording on the creed (glove-tanned cowhide) the leather, at least to me, had a more firm, structured feel and it had a sheen almost a glaze to it.

My other older bags were much more "squishy" and soft and had a finish that was kind of dull in comparison.

You described the leather perfectly!

Item: Red Zip Wallet
Seller: Savers $5.25
Dimensions: 5.25” wide, 3.75” tall, and 0.75” deep (when zipped)

Comments: I picked up this cute red wallet that has mattress ticking lining and YKK zippers. Please give an opinion about authenticity, thank you. If you have any ideas about approximate date, name, or style, that information would also be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Sorry, there just isn't a lot of information on older wallets. :shrugs:

Maybe someone else will recognise it. My guess would be late 80s or early 90s.

There's no mention in the catalogs of any special process used on the leather.

I have a bag with leather like this too. It's pebbled and stiff and seems to be more shiny in comparison to my other leather Coach bags. I'm not sure if it was from the Equestrian line though but it looks like it may be...If I can find a pic I will post since I left it at my parents house when I moved :( It's super tiny and not functional in the city but I'm still hanging onto it for now.

In the future, please refer to post #1 of the thread for the posting format. It's especially helpful in evaluating listings and sellers.

Is this the wallet listing?

I'm reluctant to authenticate items from ebay.ph. For the last several years, we've been seeing some AAA fakes coming from the Philippines. Wallets are "well" faked also, so that, coupled with the scary fakes, I (personally) wouldn't feel comfortable buying from sellers on ebay.ph.

Many of the items are either lacking tags or those that have tags have incorrect and/or invalid information. For handbags, tags have incorrect coding and serial numbers on the bags are invalid for the styles of the bags they're on. Yet the bags look perfect in detail - stitching, fonts, hardware, etc have no obvious red flags.

The fact that your wallet was described as NWOT bothers me. I can't tell what the color is supposed to be and I'm not sure that the wallet was made in the color shown.

The description states that the wallet was "Originally purchased in the U.S.A." so it shouldn't be lacking the tag.

Sorry I can't be more optimistic but I don't feel comfortable giving a thumbs up.

Other opinions are welcome.
