Item:Coach Kristin Special Edition Python Hobo $798

Item number: 330768416449

Thanks in advance

It seems to be genuine, but I wonder if the "scratches in the hardware" mean that the Gunmetal finish on the strap rings has been worn or scratched off? You may want to check the main Coach forum to see if anyone reported problems with scratched hardware - I know several Kristin styles had that problem but I can't remember if this was one of them. It looks as if some of the color is gone from some of the rings.

thanx in advance

If you own the bag, please post the serial number, it's just a bit unclear in the photo. Also please post a photo of the inside of the price tag showing all the codes. Thanks!

You're absolutely right, I will follow protocol from now on. First to Authenticate...then whatever needed from there.
Thank you for your apology, I was feeling a little hurt and scolded, lol.
I admit my mistakes, and even just talked to EBay to make sure the sellers were safe. I am a seller too, and wouldn't want my good reputation tarnished. I have authenticated bags through tpf before for me personally, and before resale. I love this Forum and even recruited a friend. :-)

Good, I'm glad you understand that protecting sellers from false accusations of selling fakes is very important to a lot of posters here especially the ones who authenticate. There's SO much bad information on the Internet and even in most of the so-called "authenticity guides" posted at Ebay that hundreds of sellers get falsely accused because some bogus guide claims that having. or not having, such-and-such on a Coach proves it's fake.

Always ask. No one can know every detail of every Coach from every year, but someone here will usually have a pretty good idea. There really are NO rules that proves a Coach is genuine and only two or three that always prove it's fake. Every other "rule" is either invalid or outdated or has dozens of exceptions or is just plain wrong.

feel free to wait for other's more expert opinions, but READ THE CREED. This isn't a full grain leather bag. Plus the "...leather are a characteristic..."
Fake in my opinion, but as I stated...wait for others to agree or disagree.

There's a slim chance it might be real but I want to see more photos.

Because the creed says "VariationS in the grain ARE a characteristic" and the Subject and Verb/Predicate are both plural and agree with each other, that's not a problem. Also, a few newer fabric bags mostly made for the outlets that posters have bought directly from Coach are coming with the "leather" versions of the creeds, or vice versa. So we need to see more evidence and we need a clear serial number.

Chances are good that it's fake - is this a bag you own or is it for sale somewhere? Please follow the format requested in Post number one and post the source of the listing or photos.

Thank you...goodness, how can one keep up? When in doubt I will ask. I have some "vintage" (not for sure if really vintage) Coach I will be selling that I definitely plan to authenticate here before sale. I purchased them before knowing about tpf, so who knows if I got lucky. I went a little crazy so I need to sell some.
This is a great forum and I didn't mean to seem abusive of it.
Thank you for your help! :-)

Thank you so much. you are always so kind. I did search for this style but not much came out. So I think this style should be OK.

1- 9060 Slim Duffle Sac seems ok, we can't authenticate the other without a creed photo
2-ok
3-If there are 2 bags we need creed photos of BOTH
4- please show the rest of the bag

I ran out of memory (snapping pics without the memory card) so I didnt get the inside of the tall tote and the red bag. I forgot I didnt upload them. I'll get upload asap, thanks so much!

Been helping my mother move into an apartment; my father passed last year, today was moving day-yay! Ok, now down to business, because I have been super busy, I purchased this and took a chance, now I need your expertise to authenticate. I think I can fix the scratches.

May I please also have the style name if known, as always thanks and you rock!

It looks like it might be a Diplomat Briefcase from maybe 1988-89, maybe someone can confirm or know the correct name?

I have a question..is it true that I can take my authentic bags to any coach store and they will clean them?

Not that I'm aware of, but you may want to ask at the main Coach forum. Coach has eliminated many of their old service features over the years especially since production moved overseas.
http://forum.purseblog.com/coach/

There are also quite a few threads that tell you how to clean and care for Coach bags starting with the Rehab and Rescue Club thread.

From Coach: Last paragraph says No to cleaning bags anymore

This is definitely not a Embossed Leah, so if the tag says that it is fake. Why would there be a different style number on the tag than on the purse?
This appears to be a copy of a Poppy style. I found one that looks like it on a site that sells fakes.
