It looks ok. Most older Coach styles weren't from "collections", they were just considered classic Coach styles.

Good afternoon ladies! Please authenticate this "Devon" bag. It has a back slip pocket. It measures approximately 9X7X3" with an 46" strap. I am thinking, if authenticate, it would have been made in 1995? TIA for your time.

There's a BIG problem with the serial number. The Tribeca line wasn't introduced until early 1998, and first appears in the "New Collections" catalog from that time. This is backed up by other bags with style numbers starting with 90xx with the last two numbers toward the high end of that sequence. There may be a rare number like 9085 that goes back a lot farther but Coach usually followed a definite pattern in the number sequence and a bag supposedly made in late 1995 just doesn't fit. The font of the serial number is also totally wrong for a bag from the C plant made in 1995.

There are other problems too including the stitching and the stamp on the front but the serial number is what's raising a big red flag. The color seems odd too, it should be a dark muted olive green closer to what's shown in the hangtag photo but the photos of the inside look as if the natural suede inside is almost a light gray. I know you can never depend on the colors shown in photos but this seems pretty extreme. There's a genuine one here for comparison:

I don't recommend buying that bag.

Thanks Hyacinth. You are the best! I was ready to buy it last night, but I just wanted to get your opinion. I'm so glad I waited. :smile1:

It looks ok, and yes, from 1995.

Could I ask another question? I keep looking at this Devon Bag and I can't figure out the color. It's not off white and it isn't taupe. I've looked at the color tags you posted and it looks darker than bone, could it be khaki? Did Coach make a (1995) Devon bag in khaki and if so, would khaki or bone look light sandy beige?

I took a picture of the bag on both white and yellow tissue paper. I would love your opinion as to the color.

"Bone" is listed as one of the 1995 colors.
