The so-called YKK Rule is BS, just like the huge majority of "rules" found in almost all online guides:

http://reviews.ebay.com/Coach-Authenticity-Guides-Facts-and-Myths?ugid=10000000062607882

If you want details on anything I've written there, you can ask. If you want proofs, I can supply those too.

The difference between the Salearea Guides and most of the dreck posted on the internet is that I spent six years researching, collecting, and comparing information from thousands of sources including listings for both real and fake Coach items. I don't claim that I can tell you what Magic Details can prove a Coach is genuine, because there AREN'T ANY. And I don't claim to have all the answers because I don't. But I stand by what I write and post instead of Copying & Pasting some other idiot's "guide" and putting my anonymous name on it. I can back up what I say and anyone who wants to question or challenge it knows exactly where to find me, unlike the other 6000 Guide "writers" that disappeared into a black hole as soon as their BS was posted somewhere.

So yes, I've done good work and spent a lot of time, effort AND money doing it and I'm not hesitant about saying so. Anyone who would prefer to believe some nameless nitwit whose claims can be proven false by something as easy as a trip to the nearest Coach store is welcome to. That's THEIR decision.

"Also, not all Coach items have creeds or serial numbers. Aside from the obvious items like wallets (although I've seen maybe 6 styles with genuine creeds) small bags that Coach considers ACCESSORIES such as Swingpacks, Pouches, Demis, Cosmetic Bags, Crossbodys - anything small enough to fit into a larger purse - may or may not have a creed patch, and those patches may or may not have serial numbers. There are no Rules about what style gets and doesn't get patches and numbers. NEVER assume that a smaller bag is fake because it doesn't have a creed. When in doubt, ask at Ebay's Purses forum or other purse authentication venues."

You answered my question right here. All I needed to know. Thanks!

Please authenticate! I'm totally new with the "old" bags!

Item: Vintage COACH Handbag All Cowhide Leather Made in New York City USA
Listing number: 110972036633
Seller: tinydogs

Comments: The number is listed as 359-3001, but I haven't been able to find any information out about it.

It's an authentic Skinny Tote (style 9545) with a glued in "random" serial number. Probably made in the early 1980's.

Hello!
Can you authenticate this Classic Patricias Coach Bag please? Thanks in advance :)

Item -Coach Patricia Legacy Bag 9951 Black Leather Handbag Purse Shoulder Crossbody

Comments - I think the code is correct, but the date/styl numbers look a little crooked?

It's usually not a problem in older Coaches when the serial number stampings are a bit crooked or off-center. That was all done by hand and perfection wasn't required. There's nothing wrong with that bag.

Hi hyacinth to tell you honestly its
not my friend. My friend is also a victim of this seller who sells fake bag in ebay :(

Here's the link

http://myworld.ebay.ph/bittersweetnut_2012/?_trksid=p4340.l2559

her name is catherine o. Consigna or kate. Got her complete name because i deposited my payment on her bank account.

Thank you so much

Is that the bag you just left POSITIVE Feedback for today? Why did you do that before making sure the bag was genuine? Is bittersweetnut_2012 your friend or the person who originally sold the fake?

The photos in that seller's auctions are VERY bad, she uses the same photos over and over again, never shows a clear photo of the creed and serial number in her Coach items, and many, maybe all, of the photos are stolen right from the manufacturer's website or possibly from other sellers. I doubt if bittersweetnut_2012 took any of those photos herself, I doubt if any of them show the actual bag that's being sold (the serial number and creed in the one you posted pictures of earlier don't look anything like the photos in the listing you left Feedback for) and there's no way I would EVER buy anything from her based on those listings and photos. She also tries to hide from Ebay by adding extra letters to the brand names in her listings so Ebay's searching software can't find them, which almost always means that the seller is not trustworthy. Any time the seller doesn't use the correct form of the maker's name when listing brand-name items, that's a very bad sign.

If you or your friend bought that bag you need to file a claim with Ebay and get your money back AND leave Negative Feedback for the seller even if she refunds your money. If you can change the Feedback you already left, do it.

The ONLY way the sale of these fakes can be stopped is by leaving Negative Feedback and by filing a Dispute with Ebay when someone sells you a fake. And when the seller insists on only accepting bank transfers as payment, it's almost impossible to get a refund, which is why so many crooks seem to prefer selling in the Philippines where bank transfers are a much more common method of payment than credit cards or a service like Paypal where a cheated buyer at least has a chance to get her money back.

I'll say it again - NEVER BUY WITHOUT SEEING A CLEAR READABLE PHOTO OF THE CREED PATCH AND SERIAL NUMBER, AND NEVER BUY WITHOUT HAVING A COACH ITEM AUTHENTICATED HERE FIRST.

DO NOT BUY FROM PHILIPPINES SELLER " bittersweetnut_2012 " OR ANY VERSION OF THAT NAME LIKE " bittersweetnut2012 " or " bittersweetnut 2012 "

Comments: Highly rated Seller; but I suspect not an authentic Coach

You're correct, it's not authentic.

Plus, the same seller has this: Coach Soho Boho Steampunk Goth crossbody Willis USA multi-pocket Station # 9950
Item Number: 290804660027

Quite a bizarre description - but Syle 9950 is a Janice's Legacy and I don't know what that is supposed to be.

Comments: Could someone please take a look at this bag and give me an opinion? Also any other information such as a name and year would greatly be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

It seems to be ok although the wavy inside zipper is a bit worrying. The style is a Legacy Zip.

Thank you Hyacinth! Truthfully I didn't expect the seller to accept my offer and certainly not before I could have the bag authenticated. I can post more pictures when the bag arrives if you think it could help to make you more certain of the bags authenticity.
