I found this wallet at GCF, it looks "off" just wondering if you could help me figure out if its real or not.

The stamp looks weird, and I have never seem coach use a zipper or lining like this...help is greatly appreciated :)

Coach used that lining in the 1980s. I haven't seen that style before so I can't really give an opinion. I'm concerned with the Coach stamp being off to one side, although as I said, maybe I just haven't seen that style before. Other than that there's nothing that would make me think it isn't genuine.

Cool, thank you Hyacinth! I'll hold it in the "possibly genuine" pile lol

I'm totally confused. :confused1:

I posted 3 bags but only see where you said one is a Quincey and one is a Legacy Small Flap.

I said style 9335 was a Legacy Small Flap. The style number of the bag you think I didn't authenticate in post 3037 is style 9335. It's right in the serial number. I authenticated bags from 2 different posts in one answer and the third bag in another answer.

9455 AND 9335 from posts 3038 AND 3037 here, post 3040:

What did I miss?

Nothing! I completely missed that you authenticated 2 different bags in one answer. :shame:

Sorry about that. And thanks again.

Item: Framed Kisslock Bag (USA, mid 1980s?)
Seller: Savers $28
Dimensions: 7.5" tall, 11.5" at widest point, 5.25" deep across the bottom
Comments: I really fell for this bag when I saw it at the thrift store today! I love the color and the big kisslock and the wonderful condition and everything! I'm pretty sure that it is genuine but I have absolutely no idea of the name or style number or what this gorgeous mustard yellow color is called! Please give an opinion about authenticityand let me know any information you have, thank you!!

I only have a few catalogs from that time and it's not in any of them. Sorry I can't help.

I finished rehabbing the "mystery mustard bag" - it was an easy rehab - and I have posted an appeal in the forum to help me identify her at the link below. A couple of examples of the bag have shown up on ebay in black and in a dark blue color, but still no name or style number!

CoachChris has identified the mystery bag! It is style number 9003 and it is called the "Retro Lindy Bag. Gold plated steel frame with knob closure. 10x7x5. Golden Yellow."

She found it in the 1991 Anniversary Catalog for $162 and says that it came in other colors including Peacock Blue and Coral Pink!

Mystery solved!

Comments: I already bought this and rehabbed it before I realized that it says bean bag! The seller insists she bought it directly from a Coach store in the 80's. I don't have any other late 80's basic bags to compare it to. I was thinking that the wording the late 80's included the word "out" in the phrase "it was made out of a completely natural glove-tanned cowhide" and that since this one omits that word, it might be another red flag. The bag seems very similar to my NYC basic bags. The zipper is heavy duty but the slide looks like a combination of pewter and brass, like the brass coating has worn off, whereas the slides on my other bags look completely brass. The zipper ring on this bag is a dull silver color, like the brass color has totally worn off. The leather piece that is wrapped around the wristlet strap has worn away, revealing silver metal beneath. You can see this in the second photo. None of my other bags have this issue. The seller is willing to take the bag back but since it was so cheap, it isn't worth returning. I am hoping for a definitive answer so I can get a refund without returning. Thank you for any help you can provide.

All the issues you mentioned should be more than enough to prove your case - that and the simple fact that Coach has no records of making any genuine bags with Bean Bag creeds. You also have genuine bags to compare it to. And vintage Coaches would ONLY have used solid brass hardware - you'll NEVER see a genuine vintage Coach zipper and zipper pull that look like that.

The underscore and shape of the "o" in the "No" before the serial number don't feel right either. I can't quite put my finger on the problem though.
