What's bothering me is that there doesn't seem to be any serial number under the creed, or if there is one it's so lightly or badly stamped that it's invisible. Is there any number on the patch, can you get a photo of the patch that shows it, and what are the bag's measurements? (Also, if it has a fabric lining it's technically not vintage - I don't recognise the style at all which could mean it's fairly recent).

I'm also seeing what looks like a fabric tag sewn on the inside, just under your finger in the photo of the creed patch - if that's sewn into the bag we need to see what it says.

I appreciate your inputs Hyacinth. When I asked the seller to email me a picture showing the serial number, she didn't send me one so I guess that's suspicious in itself.

Hello Ladies I need this Coach hat authenticated..

Title: Authentic Coach Bucket Hat

Seller: Pumpkinangel10

Auction Link: http://www.listia.com/auction/6333592-authentic-coach-bucket-hat

Comments: I already know the verdict, but would like a second opinion thanks :)

Fake. The shape of the Cs is wrong - half of them are much too elongated, the "leather" band is thin and cheap and I don't know WHAT kind of clip that's supposed to be or what hardware store the fakes makers found it at but it was never used by Coach, Coach usually would have used their standard dog-leash clip, not something from the 99-cent bin at True Value. The stitching around the leather patch is a MESS and the margins of the patch aren't even.

"Bought at the Coach store", my BUTT.

Here's another of the same style fake but listed on Ebay:

Same misshaped Cs, same cheapo leather patch - and speaking of CHEAP, use the Zoom feature to take a close look at the "leather" band around the hat and the clip. That band is a piece of JUNK. Looks like a scrap they found in a trash bin, and it's exactly like the band shown in the Listia listing.

Absolutely - a bag that size will always have a serial number. The more I look at those photos, the more problems I see.

It's genuine and several other posters here own one but no one's ever found the official name. From the creed I'd guess that it's from around 1988 or a year or two after.

Hi,
I bought this purse in an estate sale for a lot of money and wanted to have it authenticated before selling it on ebay. Here is the listing. Could you tell me if this is a genuine Coach bag or a knock off?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Legac...893?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item43b42981b5

You need to know that forum rules really don't allow sellers to link to their own listings, it's considered potential self-advertising. For any future authentications of your own items, please just post the photos of the item without using any links. Thanks!

The bag is a genuine Courier Pouch, style number 8920 from the 1970s or possibly early 1980s. You really should post the bag's measurements in your listing.
